We stayed at Strandloper a few years ago. it was excellent then, but it is even better now.
On parking our vehicle there was someone to assist with our luggage even before I had turned off the vehicle's ignition.
We received a very warm welcome at reception and completed a short and simple check-in whilst seated in the lounge with a welcome drink. Then it was off to our courtyard room (no views), which was tastefully decorated, spotless, with private outdoor seating area and a great shower. We were very happy with our choice of accommodation.
We stayed for two nights. On each evening we ate in the hotel's restaurant. The ambience, setting (view out to the beach and sea), service and food were fantastic. Special mention of Lauren who served us on two separate occasions. Breakfasts were also fantastic.
On the Sunday we did a three hour guided walk of the town, a 10 minute walk away and its beaches with Bruce - very enthusiastic and knowledgeable!
A friendly check out from the same gentlemen who checked us in (sorry, I didn't catch his name, but he said he was originally from Soweto, Johannesburg). We were very sorry to leave.
I travel a lot, stay in many places, but this has got to be at the top of our list - a combination of the setting, the food and impeccable service

I took my husband to Strandloper Ocean Boutique Hotel for his 50th. We were met with a glass of champagne and snacks while we waited by the fire for our luggage to be taken to our room. The room was breathtaking. The view of the ocean absolutely stunning. We dined at Leeto on the Friday night. The portions were bigger than we thought they would be and the flavors were bold and delicious. Excellent meal and good value for money. When we arrived back at our room, we were blown away by the amount of effort to tidy our room, pack items neatly out, rose petals on the bed, a bottle of champagne waiting and a beautiful card wishing my husband the best 50th. Breakfast was yet another incredible experience with stunning views of the ocean and the food catering for every palate. We had a couples massage on the Saturday morning at their spa. Both my husband and I say it was the best massage we have ever had. The weekend was truly unforgettable. My only regret is that we ate at Wolfgat the Saturday night instead of at Leeto again. The attention to detail and level of service was honestly "next level". We will certainly be referring all our friends and family to this gem on the West Coast. Thank you to all the staff for something truly special which we will remember and cherish for the rest of our lives.

Small, intimate, exceptional hotel. It's all about being a really well designed property with extremely well executed food and service by a talented and well trained team of staff members. The restaurant Leeto was amazing - it seriously made our top 10 after 40 years of international travel. The natural beauty of this West Cape location is much more unique and untouched vs. other spots we toured along this coast. It is not often one finds a place this special. We stayed 4 nights, a perfect wrap up to safari and wine region to decompress. We enjoyed staying in two different suites, 3 dinners in Leeto with one off-property at Noisy Oyster, multiple massages (very good) and suggest their West Cape oysters after a long walk on the beach. Great memories to be sure.

The location is gorgeous, the staff friendly and service oriented, food was delicious and facilities exactly what we were looking for. Rooms were well separated and the little treats in the evenings with the fire place lite were a pleasant surprise.
We spent two nights at the hotel and ate dinner the one evening and had snacks and drinks on the second evening. Enjoy both meals Breakfasts were hearty and good choices.
Due to load shedding, the staff offered a coffee delivery, from 7am which was a nice touch.

My wife & I stayed at the Strandloper during our recent tour of S.A. Paternoster is a lovely eclectic village with a mix of quant holiday homes & local culture ,all the house are white .Every evening local fisherman come down to the beach & launch their fishing boats & it becomes quite a sunset event There are great walks on the beach which is backed by big sand dunes it really is a gem & so quiet , The Strandloper is at the far end of the village , located directly on to the beach with great views from the Resturant & a lot of the rooms . the welcome on arrival was really nice & given a nice glass of rose bubbles as we completed the check in .The standard of rooms are great with really nice modern decor large fold back windows leading on to a deck overlooking the beach & Atlantic Ocean . The breakfast was excellent with great choice . .the Resturant offers lunch & dinner and is very good with great service but the same menu was on offer for both lunch & dinner so we felt it needed to be some differences & maybe a daily special to change the offer . as a result we also ate in the village for a change of menu, where their are also some very good options . in short we loved the whole experience & would certainly put it on our next S.A.itinerary .

Beautifully located boutique hotel, lovely rooms, beautifully furnished, quiet, direct access to the beach and the dunes. The hot water bottle was a wonderful surprise on the cool nights; what a wonderful thing! The restaurant is highly recommended, reasonably priced and world-class cuisine, friendly staff, direct sea views. It's worth staying there for at least 2 nights. However, warmer duvets would be needed on cool spring or winter nights. The accommodation was the best start to our trip to South Africa.

Strandloper is outstanding ! everything about it ! from the time one arrives one is treated like a guest in the truest sense. So professional yet informal and relaxed. Arrival greeting efficient , relaxed and delicious refreshments offered. The attention to detail in the rooms is sublime, Everything has been thought of. Beds, linen , hot water bottles. lovely bathrooms, beautifully fitted mini kitchen, dressing table, masses of beautifully designed cupboards... everything perfect. the setting is sublime : step onto the longest beach on which to walk. A beautiful place to stay right on the beach. Tucked away in its only little cove at the end of all the properties overlooking Paternoster beach each of the rooms has a an outside space opening on to the sand but it’s cleverly arranged so your outside space still has privacy from the next door room. Our room was spacious and elegantly but simply furnished, lots of use of glass with bifold doors opening on to our terrace with the most comfortable lounger ever and a table and chairs, great bathroom with big walk in shower and concrete bath and polished concrete floor and walls. Lovely restaurant serving good food. The staff were all super hospitable, professional but friendly. A great find!

I wasn't even aware of a presidential suite. We stayed in one of the Ocean suites. Highly recommendable. Stunning view and privacy. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Unfortunately we stayed in the winter time, so we couldn't really make use of the outdoor seating area, but it appealed to us. Plus the chef at the restaurant is truly recommendable. our suite had a loft area upstairs, but the view downstairs was more than we could ask for. Have a wonderful stay.
