This well positioned and luxurious guesthouse was a real find. The rooms have superb views over one of the prettiest bays in Paternoster and it is easy to access the beach for an early-morning, or late-afternoon walk on the beach. The rooms are well furnished with attention to the details that make a beach holiday. The breakfast varies each morning, but always includes fresh fruit and a range of egg options. The host is knowledgeable about local restaurant options, and clearly enjoys welcoming her guests. Highly recommended.

We stayed at Oystercatcher's Haven during November 2020.
Sue-Anne, who managed the hotel, called earlier in the day of our arrival to confirm our trip and offered to make reservations for us at a number of restaurants - each of which we loved during our time there. It was a thoughtful touch and ensured that we felt organised and had local recommendations wherever needed.
The location is ideal for a getaway, being near the edge of town (but in a town as small as Paternoster you are still close to everything).
The B&B is beautiful and set on the edge of the beach, with a lovely sea view from the patio and breakfast area (which was great with delicious breakfasts).
The King Suite which we stayed in was possibly the highlight - an incredibly comfortable bed and a lovely lounge area with a balcony overlooking the sea. In the miserable weather, the lounge was a great place to enjoy the view with a cup of coffee, a glass of wine and a book.
I would highly recommend The Oystercatcher's Haven to anyone looking for a great stay in Paternoster or the West Coast in general.

There is nothing to find fault at with my stay at Oystercatcher's. The breakfast was excellent every morning with huge portions. The location and view is close to perfection with you virtually being right on the beach and had an extreme restful stay with an attentive host making every minute enjoyable.

We originally booked to stay in Oystercatchers Haven in Paternoster for 2 nights, but changed out stay to four nights. Thank goodness we did, what a wonderful place. The online photos don’t do the property justice! Imagine 3 course breakfasts, strolls on the beach and picture perfect sunsets... Thank you Ansu for your wonderful hospitality. See you the next time we are in Paternoster 😘

Our one night stay at the Oystercatcher's Haven was truly memorable. Sue-Anne welcomed us warmly and was a fountain of information about restaurants and general information about the area.
Our room was luxurious and comfortable with stunning views of the beach and sea.
It was wonderful to sit on the balcony and sip a drink while contemplating the beautiful surroundings.
The positioning of the guesthouse right on the seafront was great for beach walks.
We look forward to a return visit.

With our comfortable and beautifully decorated room overlooking the magnificent sea and rocks along the beach, and its sound to lull us to sleep, our stay at Oystercatcher Haven in Paternoster was one of the highlights of visiting South Africa. Breakfast was a three-course gourmet delight with wonderful, fresh creations from the kitchen daily. Charming hostess Sue-Anne Hamer made sure we knew where to have dinner and what to do in her beautiful village, and happily answered all of our questions.

Because of our amazing hostess, Ansu, and the way she made us feel at home, is the main reason we'll return to this specific guest house.
Before our arrival Ansu contacted us directly to learn about our relelvant interests such as activities we wish to do during our stay, and restaurant visits. She made a restaurant reservation for us at an amazing restaurant and looked after our every need during our stay.
The guest house has the BEST views one can ever dream of, with the most amazing and clean bed linnen - we felt right at home.
The way Ansu empowers her staff is something really special to experience. We arrived as total strangers and left as friends.
Thank you Ansu - you are a beautiful human being who will still atrract many people to this gem.

This guesthouse is impeccable. The attention to detail in the furnishing and decor is out of this world. Every item is so unique and you can see that the owner put so much thought into decorating. The views are breathtaking. And the breakfast was delicious, great value for money and the service was so friendly and attentive. I can't find fault with anything at this lovely place.

We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is located perfectly on top of a hill directly at the beach (walking distance about 1 minute). Rooms were very clean and very nice furnished. The staff had been lovely and helpful.
Everything has been perfect!

We had a wonderful quiet birthday celebration. The room was classy with ocean views, huge comfy bed overlooking the waves and all the special one needs to relax. Covid compliant and everything catered to any slight problem. I loved the lamps and candles box for load shedding.
Thanks to this team for a great night!

I’m not sure why I’m being asked this question. I was a guest from New Zealand who stayed at Oystercatchers Haven and wrote a review. I don’t own or rent out this property. Cheers Fiona

Dear Wendy, Thank you for your enquiry. Unfortunately, the house is not wheelchair friendly. Room 1 is on the lower level, but there is 2 steps that leads up to the room. The bathroom is big enough to accommodate a wheelchair and we would be able to move a few things around in the room to allow for more space. I would also gladly welcome your service dog. Please give me a call, should you wish to discuss the access and layout in more detail. Not sure about your husbands' movability, but I think it might be a little bit tricky. Kind regards, Sue-Anne 022 752 2193 082 856 2813
