I stayed at Hoekie for almost three weeks recently. The staff where amazing, Otilja, ,owner and hostess, was gracious and accommodating. Breakfast? Legendary and great to have it at the allocated time. Breakfasts were particular great as Otilja prepares them herself and each morning was different. She engages the guest while cooking, making it almost a homely experience. Accommodation? Fantastic! Location? Awesome, centrally situated and across the beach. I have decided now to come through once a month as my monthly getaway! Highly recommended!

What an amazing SC cottage. Everything and more was available. All the "bells and whistles" Thank you Otilja for making such a lovely place available for those of us who just need to get away from the city hustle and bustle. Loved hearing the sea at night.

We were warmly welcomed by the owner and her cat, and given a charming room with a sun deck and a view of sea. The room was clean and comfortable. The guesthouse is just across the road from the beach and nice restaurant. All in all an excellent place to stay.

We loved this quaint B+B. The owner was helpful before we even got there, by suggesting fantastic local restaurants both of which were great.It was a good thing we booked as both were very busy. The B+B itself is delightful with very comfortable beds in gorgeous rooms. The decor is quirky (in a good way) and not the usual bland beige. Hoekie is well situated. It's just across the road from the beach which goes on for miles. Atilja (the owner) was friendly and helpful, and even surprised me with an up-grade as there was a larger room available. Breakfast was at a shared table but it's a small B+B and the other people there were fine. Breakfast was enormous and I would recommend the fruit salad! I was a bit surprised to be offered spring rolls but it was all good. The aircon was very welcome on a hot day, and was quiet! We only stayed one night but will be back for a longer stay next time.

We stayed in this charming guest house weekend of 9 January 2015.I would specifically like to comment on the negative review submitted by Francois 0701 on 30 april 2014 called "Lientjiesklip horror".
We stayed in in the same room and found it to be full of character and quite charming. I am 6ft 4in tall and had no problem moving about the room or getting into the bath! Otilja is a wonderful host and made us feel welcome and comfortable. Francois review is void of all truth and it is a pity that you get people that take a sadistic pleasure in giving a unjustified negative report and trying to damage a establishments good reputation.We will definitely be back and recommend this lovely guest house to all our friends!

A great B&B right on the beach. Well run and very good host in Otilja. She really knows how to ensure her guests are kept happy.
Breakfasts are super and all in all this is the only place to stay when you visit Paternoster.
Well worth it! We have stayed a few times and cant wait to go back.

As we had never stayed overnight in Paternoster before, it was difficult to decide which B&B to choose, and choosing Hoekie was like striking gold!! All our expectations were exceeded: The location is perfect (right accross the road from the beach), the breakfasts were brilliant (especially the fabulous brekkie prepared by Otilja on Valentines Day!), the bathroom is HUGE and the bedroom was beautifully romantic :-)
The best part about the Hoekie is the stoep - here you can sit for hours and watch the ocean, drinking in the relaxation that the West Coast has in abundance. We cant wait to get an opportunity to go back to Paternoster, and we will definitely stay at the Hoekie again

All I can say.... I was disappointed that the advertised Honeymoon suite, had twin beds. I went back to my booking and first made sure I did not miss any fine print. So if you are having a serious fight book Trappiesklip, because you would not have to share a bed.
She did however move us the next morning to a room with a double bed....we appreciated that.

This B&B and self-catering establishment must go down in the books as THE best equipped we have ever stayed in. We visited in April and again in August, and were blown away by the attention to detail, friendliness of the hostess and quiet helpfulness of the staff. Awesome breakfasts prepared and served by the hostess, restaurant meters away over the road and the beach on your doorstep - what more can one want?

Perfectly positioned "on" the beach this quaint B&B is a delight. Everything that opens and shuts including wifi and most efficiently run by owner/manager Otilja.........who also delights her guests with a delicious breakfast. Will definitely visit again!
