We were prompted to go to Paternoster for a week by the very favorable article in the NT Times travel section and an afternoon we had spent there about 8 years ago. Ah was highly praised by the Times travel writer and the praise was well deserved. Ah is mainly a B+B, but with some organization and luck you can be included in Arnold's great dinners. We made two reservations in advance on line and then changed our plans to go yet a 3rd time. Was Ah worth a flight from New York - no. But our meals there were a terrific part of a stay in a charming ocean side village. I am not a restaruant writer, so I cannot descibe each ingredient in each dish, but every one was complex and thoughtful. Some dinners were three courses and some four. The price was under $20 per person (without wine)

We have travelled extensively in South Africa and abroad, staying in anything from cottages to 5-star international hotels, and my wife and I could not recall having had a breakfast better than the one he prepared for us each morning. A wonderful find, and we would make a special detour to
