Masillan it is a beautiful castle like chateau in Uchaux. The communal areas are very nice with a large central courtyard/ terrace and pool area with a small bar for drinks and light lunch. First impressions were good. it is a very pretty property. Our room however was in an annex to the main building. It looked spacious and light but on being there overnight several aspects of the room just didn't really work well/became annoying. The aim was eco friendly which we are all in favour of but not at any cost. The dressing room/tea coffee area had a light which detected movement but it switched off after 1 second not ideal if pouring boiling water as it was dark without any light. You had to learn to select clothes/make tea while waving one arm. There were no bed side tables, only a wide headboard so you had to awkwardly reach behind you for drinks etc. Table/flat space generally was in short supply especially in the bathroom where it was non existent (a real bug bear of mine). There was a single soap dispenser in the shower for shower gel/shampoo again a good eco idea but it was not working properly. The staff were friendly although offered no help with bags. Man in reception very helpful - he lent us bikes for the nearby restaurant ( Le Temps de Vivre) where we ate a delicious meal (hotel restaurant was full)

We stayed here with our son for three nights in August. This was the start of our holiday after a long drive from Calais. The location is beautiful, the gardens are full of colour and wildlife. The building is everything you would want a chateau to be. Our room in the main building was a great size even with a pop up bed. The views are perfect. The staff are very friendly, sometimes they look super busy but just ask because they will help you. We had a professional and friendly service from Florian who explained the food and wine. I booked with Francios who was simply friendly and accommodating from the very start. The dinner and wine from the Chateau were superb, perfect seasonal food. And the icing is the most beautiful spa with a fantastic hydro massage pool. Oh my goodness!! two relaxing hours of utter pleasure for €30, it was so good we all went twice. So good, so relaxing and we are hoping to return one day. Thank you so much everyone.

My husband & I spent two nights here on a short break to Provence. It's a haven of peace, with beautiful grounds & courtyards, superb food and lovely staff. Pascal, on reception, was charming, fun, and nothing was too much for him. If I have one (small) quibble, it's that we felt the lighting in the dining room could be more subtle. The bright lighting does not lend to ambiance. However, the delicious food & excellent serving staff more than made up for it. Also, breakfast is very expensive (€19 per person) for what it is. We got just as good in other, cheaper places, where it was included in the overall price.

We travelled as a family of 4 with two children aged 9 & 5. From the moment we checked in there was absolutely no help with the bags and zero effort to make us feel welcome. There is no room service at all so if you want any kind of extras this is not the hotel for you. Additionally given the setting and standard when you arrive you would expect some kind of outdoor pool service again nothing. People were sitting around the pool with their own refreshments which they had bought from the supermarket!!! Such a shame we were so looking forward to it. I had to chase and discuss the poor air conditioning twice at reception to eventually get a fan for the family room to be told that they knew the air con was weak!!! Maybe pre empt and put a fan there then??? All in all very expensive 1.1k EUR for 2 days. We won’t be returning.

When we drove up to the castle, we were quite impressed and excited. A fabulous setting. From that moment on, we were disappointed! After a 5 hour drive, we wanted to relax with a adult beverage, but there is no bar and getting a drink at the restaurant seemed like an imposition. But it got worse. The reception fellow showed us our room, but it was 2 stories up with no elevator and no offer offer of assistance. We were on a 3 week trip and had 2 large and heavy suitcases. And we ain’t young! Very disappointed with that. Most importantly, we did not feel welcome. That was must disappointing of all.
