We booked the glass tree house with the bath at the bottom of the unit. On arrival we 1st had to leave our car parked outside. Then we were shown a glass tree house without a bath. When I asked about our correct accommodation the lady said someone already checked in to that unit. We had to settle for second best during our stay.
I’ve been on the road for a month in a tent and was looking forward to a clean comfy bed. The staff were all very friendly! But the people left in charge of this place ( a bunch of students/travellers) do not understand maintenance or cleanliness. This place has so much potential to be excellent but it’s being neglected by the staff. The room we stayed in is extremely basic and the bedding scratchy and the mattress ok. Very underwhelming. For R640 per night I at least expected a nice room with clean windows to enjoy the plants outside and a comfy bed. The bathrooms and showers I didn’t go near as they looked very unsanitary. 2 stars for this place! ‘Please hire a full time cleaner!’
This is the first time I been to a backpackers that this beautiful with nature.. Accommodation in amazing with in the tree and very clean.. Easy to find your peace of mind.. The Staff is very helpful and friendly.. I will definitely come again to this magical place
I must admit, I might be a bit too old for this backpackers now. Been here 10 years ago and loooooooved it. Been back now and nothing is has changed, except for a bit of renovations here and there. This is a party backpackers and I do think if I would have been 10 years younger I would have partied away any corona fears too. We got a free upgrade which i am very thankful for as I had my own single room which i shared with a huge snail and several geckos. However I didn't mind, because this is what you come here for: to live in the jungle. It's a small paradise for critters and I needed to get out of town for a few days and loved the complete change of scenery. All of the staff were extremely friendly and we enjoyed a free small walking tour to an abandoned monetary which was super interesting. Thank you for taking my kind of corona for a couple of days. I hope you as a backpackers survive the extremely difficult times we living in currently and I look forward coming back sometime, again to have a change of scenery and get out and away from society…
My boyfriend and I spent a weekend in the Angel Treehouse and it was MAGICAL! Mantis and Moon is the perfect escape from city life and to be one with nature! It’s like a tropical jungle that you can get lost in! The volunteers and permanent staff members are exceptionally friendly and happy to help! They thrive on personalized service and mingle very well with their visitors! Highlights include the Yoga studio that’s in a glass treehouse for a very reasonable price, the fun slide into the pool, the bar with outdoor lounge and the bonfire pit where anyone is free to hangout and set alight. I advise bringing your own towels, but you can borrow theirs if need be. Also be warned the monkeys will swing, jump and play on the tin roof at 5:30am to wake you up... I loved it! We got to live like Tarzan and Jane for the weekend and will be back!…
Beautiful place, very nice and helpful staff, pool and jaccuzi near the sweet bar, lekker vegan meals, interesting activities and good restaurants around. And all that for a good price. You can spend a long time here without problems
I met my current husband here 12 years ago. Every time I return, I am overwhelmed by the positive and enthousiastic vibe of this place. If it is sleeping among the trees in the jungle; relaxing in the jacuzzi; enjoying the delicious food in the Yum Yum café (I didn't know that vegan food can be so delicious!!!); playing some pool in the cousy bar; ... With the ocean just around the corner; ... there is always something to do! I also love the fact that they are improving all the time. It is great to see that they are always open to receive feedback and that they always want to improve. For example my room was sometimes very warm because the middle part of the roof was transparent. Very nice to see the stars that way. But super hot in summer. After giving the staff my feedback, they will try to improve this issue. Another example: due to heavy rainfall and wind, a tree (at the entrance) broke off. Immidiately the staff was brainstorming for a solution. And now they working hard on creating a beautiful garden with herbs and a nice cute little waterfall. A playground for adults and children is also being built behind the tipi tents. Ideal for some work out. A special place with special people! Many thanks to the staff! It was lovely again!…
I booked it seeing the photos on their website. Dorm room was so cramped. Small room with 10beds. Dark and no ventilation. Smelled of rotten eggs. Toilet and shower was also dirty and there were 2 dogs sits everywhere on the sofas. Their fur was in the sofas and it was smelly. Yoga lessons were expensive for what was taught. I could have spend the same money in London and could have had lessons. Bar was good.
The most amazing staff and relaxed vibe. You're surrounded by nature and wake up to the most amazing sounds in the morning 😁 The pool area is amazing for a day in the sun and the bar area is perfect for a few drinks with your friends. The glass treehouse is so exquisite. You definitely can't go wrong with Mantis and Moon.
Probably one of the coolest looking Backpackers set in a Jungle vibe. Stayed in a Teepee, pretty rad just not alot of room, and def take mozzie repellent. Get lost in the jungle setting with a great looking bar, cafe, glass tree house and even a refreshing pool. Vibe **** Food *** Accomodation ****
