If you fancy trying a couple of different beers, whilst catching up with friends or family, then this place is spot on. It can be busy so can't guarantee a table but the choice of drinks is great. Didn't have food so can't comment on that.

I’ve eaten at the Red Lion several times over the years with family and friends and have always enjoyed the food, service etc. We went with 2 friends last night whilst the beer festival was on. The menu was limited and the service at the table was abismally inconsistent (we

I am very sorry to read that you did not enjoy your visit last night, as you pointed out we did indeed have our annual beer festival running however opening the restaurant was not a 'money-grabbing exercise' it is just us running our business as normally as possible for other people not interested in the beer festival. Our prices are indicative of the quality of the ingredients used and we would not agree it is overpriced however I am sorry that you felt that the dishes were. We offer a broad menu with starters from £4.50 and main courses from £11.50 with the steak the most expensive dish due to the cost of the ingredients themselves. We did have to limit the menu a little last night due to the volume of people coming through however so I am very sorry we did not live up to your expectations on this occasion. We hope this does not deter you from coming again.

Six of my Family plus one Grand Daughter meet at The Red Lion for our Annual Lunch before Christmas. We are all very different so to try and satisfy us all was going to be very difficult. This is perhaps why we always go somewhere different each year. However, despite my Wife's

Thank you for your review. We are so happy to read that you enjoyed your family meal with us and that we managed to satisfy a wide spectrum of dietary requirements. Our apologies for the delay with the ice cream delivery, I am afraid I cannot offer an explanation only an apology on this occasion We would certainly not consider is 'unfortunate' should you return in fact we very much hope you will in the not too distant future. Thank you again

Stayed just the 1 night whilst down for the Airshow. Very nice room all clean and fresh, good sized beds, excellent Bathroom. Service from all concerned excellent and extremely polite. Ate in the Pub bit pricey for out northern purses but extremely tastey worth the treat.

Undoubtedly one of the best places in the area to drink real ales and cider. Brewery on site produces an excellent range of craft beers. Visited many times and will continue to do so. Consistently great drinks, food and friendly service.

Just one of our beautiful bedrooms
Room 2. Lovely.....
is car parking at hotel?
Yes there is. If you are coming off the 319 then you will go towards the high street. At the round a bout turn right. You will see a tesco on your left. Before that there is a turning and in there is a free car park. At the rear. Its not big. If that's full then sadly the only other option is the road.
