We spent new year at the resort. We rented a 4 bedroom flat. It was comfortable with basic conveniences. The verandah was spacious and directly on the beach. The view was beautiful. The beach is private, clean and large. Swimming here is recommended for strong swimmers, although there are life guards on duty. The pool and restaurant are well maintained. You share the facilities with the large number of campers, so the pool and play areas can become very crowded. The beach is safe and we had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

We had an amazing time at Happy Wanderers every year that we went on holiday and this was due to friends (who have been going there for years), the location and the staff / owner. Everything was awesome every year and we would keep going back if we lived in SA. Juliano Sangiorgio & Friends & Family.

We enjoyed our visit to Happy Wanderers which is well run and managed, and we decided "local is lekker" and we will support the on-site restaurant, The Wrecked Heron.

It's an authentic restaurant pub with a beach theme.

However this pub is not for slops and baggies, this is for the well heeled.

The full rack of ribs was R211. Game on, full rack of ribs, going to send it and worry about the cholesterol on Monday.

I exchanged my R211 and received a kiddies rack of ribs with chips, which when queried with the manager was evidently their standard 600g rack. My estimate was not more than 400 grams. R 211 later, at least no need for the 5km run in the morning.

We were also surprised with the amount of cigarette smoking by patrons inside the pub. There was no concern with groups sitting at the bar enjoying their nicotine fix, with no regard for anybody else, and no bother from the staff.

Beach was pleasant, The Wrecked Heron not so much .....

A lovely stay in one of the Cabins right on the beach, quiet and beautiful sun rises every morning. Dolphins & Whales swimming past and frolicking in the sea. Nice to relax, not be disturbed and watch the fishermen waiting to make their catch of the day. Lovely lay out with the Cabins and Caravan/Camping section. Plenty of jungle gyms for the kids to play and nice clean swimming pools.

What a fantastic spot! The staff here are consistently friendly and accommodating. Our family adores dining at this restaurant, largely because Matilda and Ndie never fail to bring laughter and warmth to our experience. The welcoming atmosphere they create at the Wrecked Heron Restaurant keeps us coming back time and time again. Would highly recommend.

What an absolute gem!! We had a business break away and decided to take the kids with and booked in at Happy Wanderers.

We were pleasantly surprised with this awesome place. Situated on the beach with lovely self catering flats. I would fully recommend this place for a family holiday!!

The beverages at the bar is a bit pricey, but everything else is great!!

We have been to Happy Wanderers on numerous occasions over the years. And our family just loves it and we always have a blast. Each time we visit special and treasured memories are made. Thank you to Toby for all the kiddies activities. Also a big thank you to Jerome and Fortunate, the house keepers and the ladies in the reception.
You guys are all awesome and we cannot wait for our next visit.
Although we live on the coast this has always been our go to place to escape and relax.
Thank you to your entire team once again.

Never will I ever suggest Happy Wanderers to anyone. Accommodation is dirty and old. That's why there is no photos on their website. There is nothing to do. Shop just have the absolute necessary. Very Disappointed.

I have been camping at this resort for over 17 years .I have just returned from a week in the camp site and was terribly disappointed . The road to the park from the main road was horrendous and holes everywhere - we do not all drive four by fours so taking your car into the park was a nightmare . the actual road in the park itself was just as bad. Surely this could be sorted after all the rain and peak season now ended?Secondly the rubbish to the park entrance just before the railway line was disgusting . Flies were a big problem - I have never seens such a problem ever at the park. Then the monkeys - not a pleasant experience daily to pack everyting away from a tea bag to a plastic bin - as everything was openend or taken away . I am all for loving animals - but this has become a huge problem all over the resort . with several people complaining they wont be back again .The showers at the end of the resort towards the beach which was closest to our site was not cleaned for two days. if it was done it was late afternoon and not a great experience walking into an untidy sandy facility for your morning use. Camp sites full of old rotten trees , with branches ready to fall any minute. The chalets are lovely and seem to be the main focus for the resort .i hope something is being done about all the issues so that it makes it a happy place to camp and go back to .
