Komati River Chalets is nestled on the confluence of the Komati and Crocodile Rivers in the Southern Kruger Park region of Mpumalanga’s wild frontier. Situated on 12 acres of Komati river front wilderness ensures that this is one of the regions premier country estates. The famous Kruger National Park, Crocodile bridge gate is a mere 12km from the lodge and the sweet veld grasses of the South Eastern Kruger National Park ensure that this is arguably the best game viewing area of the entire park as vast herds of plains game and predators alike are attracted to the spoils of this pristine area. Both Mozambique and Swaziland are but a stone throw from Komati River Chalets providing the perfect base from which to explore both exotic destinations. Set above the flood plain of the Komati River, the restaurant, bar and pool facilities, and the individual chalets are no more than fifty meters from the water’s edge where pods of hippos and an array of spectacular bird life will entertain for hours on end. The attention to detail and hands on management style of this family owned property ensure that Komati River Chalets is the ideal destination for the adventurous traveller.

Loved staying here. Clean linen, comfy bed, all necessary utensils, little braai area in front. Great place to use as a base to go into Kruger Crocodile Bridge Gate. Small pool was clean and great temp.

We had a stop over after a long drive from Mozambique. We were really impressed - such a beautiful oasis. We will definitely stay there again. The Rooms were clean, the atmosphere relaxing. The pool area was so welcome. Really fantastic.

Good location and lovely setting. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good value for money except for the price of breakfast which we found excessive at R170 per person. Very convenient for an overnight stay or day trips into Kruger.

We have stayed at Komati River Chalets many times and I have found them to be consistently high standards. This time we tried out their restaurant. The meal was great and the Chef was extremely efficient and kept his cool despite being let down by the other staff who were supposed to be on duty. Thus he had to do everything. It did mean we had to wait for our meal but it was worth it and we were kept informed as he ran about the restaurant covering all duties. Thank you.

Really appreciated the onsite guard that walked us from dining to our cottage at night. Also the desk staff very friendly and informed us well of policies and property layout. The river view was wonderful and our cottage very comfortable.

We stayed 1 night at the Chalets. The estate was beautifully kept & manicured. The rooms were clean & tidy equipped with basic appliances. There was a shortage of coffee tea & cremora. Only 1 mug was supplied which was frustrating. The bathroom was very clean but the shower was impossible, all the shower water soaked the floor as you could not adjust the shower head properly. Its disappointing to have the shower in the bath. Those 2 points were our only complaints.

Thank you for your kind review . our maintenance manager, has adjusted the shower hose. For future reference, we do have chalets, that do have walk in showers. Families with children also like to have a bath. For next booking please request a walk in shower. Kind greetings Manager and Staff.

Always neat and clean, and professional reception. Love the Komati river running close by and the wild live that comes out at night. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped for self catering. I always enjoy my stay.

Being a Tour/ safari guide comes with its perks, one being , one gets to places one normally could not afford. However sometimes it is the unexpected and affordable, that surprises the most.I arrived very late due to some road closures. I had no problem getting in, even though there was load shedding(regional power-outage)I found my cottage easily and could even park with a land cruiser and trailer without any hassle. Everything fits and is in a very well maintained order and neat. The cottages are spacious, very neat and have really everything one would need on a holiday. The grounds are just as amazing and the riverfront has some gorgeous spots for birding, a little picnic or to just enjoy tranquility and nature. I only can recommend Komati River Chalets to everybody who is looking for an affordable, nice and wholesome place to stay.

a tug shop for very basic needs would be recommended.. The chalets are very comfortable and fully equipped. not easy to find due to truck traffic . beautiful gardens and peaceful surroundings. will use their facilities again.

The standard of the chalets were average but expected as three star accommodation but maybe a little expensive for the quality. THe place is well positioned alongside the highway, but unfortuinately traffic and especially train noise is bad . The Kitchenettes are poorly equiped!! Some better than others, ( I had to borrow a cheese grater from the neighbours) which shows there are little checks and controls done . A standard inventory should be clearly positioned for people to see.
