Komati River Chalets is nestled on the confluence of the Komati and Crocodile Rivers in the Southern Kruger Park region of Mpumalanga’s wild frontier. Situated on 12 acres of Komati river front wilderness ensures that this is one of the regions premier country estates. The famous Kruger National Park, Crocodile bridge gate is a mere 12km from the lodge and the sweet veld grasses of the South Eastern Kruger National Park ensure that this is arguably the best game viewing area of the entire park as vast herds of plains game and predators alike are attracted to the spoils of this pristine area. Both Mozambique and Swaziland are but a stone throw from Komati River Chalets providing the perfect base from which to explore both exotic destinations. Set above the flood plain of the Komati River, the restaurant, bar and pool facilities, and the individual chalets are no more than fifty meters from the water’s edge where pods of hippos and an array of spectacular bird life will entertain for hours on end. The attention to detail and hands on management style of this family owned property ensure that Komati River Chalets is the ideal destination for the adventurous traveller.

Very clean and neat units. We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the property and the swimming pool area and the food at the restaurant was also very good.
Very friendly staff and willing to assist with any problem that might happen.
We can highly recommend Komati River Chalets.......

An absolute paradise to visit. The property lends itself to soo many different experiences from walking along the banks of the Komati river and sitting down along the way to observe magnificent birds and listen to the hippos in the river. If you are into fishing there is a good opportunity to hone your skills and attempt to catch a tiger fish. the thing that strikes one when you get there are the magnificent trees.
The proximity to the Kruger is wonderful. 15 minutes to the Crocodile Bridge Gate, a grand entrance to the Kruger Park.
1 hour from KMIA if you are flying in where you can hire a vehicle and travel the area.
Lots to do while you are there at Komati River Chalets.
Kambaku golf Course is 5 minutes away where you can go and have the delicious Mozambique prawns and view the animals coming to drink from the Crocodile River and play golf if you wish.
Tambarina Restaurant in the main road to Kruger has delicious, fresh prawns, or visit Hamilton's outside Malelane Gate for their delicious prawns, also close to Leopard Creek World Class Golf Course.
The town of Komatipoort offers shops to for getting your provisions and a pharmacy and ATM's.

Ros and Duncan, the owners of Komati River chalets have thought of everything and the chalets are well equipped and well serviced.

We had a memorable 11 days there and felt renewed after lockdown.
We thank them both most sincerely and will definitely be back.

Being a Tour/ safari guide comes with its perks, one being , one gets to places one normally could not afford.
However sometimes it is the unexpected and affordable, that surprises the most.I arrived very late due to some road closures. I had no problem getting in, even though there was load shedding(regional power-outage)I found my cottage easily and could even park with a land cruiser and trailer without any hassle. Everything fits and is in a very well maintained order and neat. The cottages are spacious, very neat and have really everything one would need on a holiday. The grounds are just as amazing and the riverfront has some gorgeous spots for birding, a little picnic or to just enjoy tranquility and nature. I only can recommend Komati River Chalets to everybody who is looking for an affordable, nice and wholesome place to stay.

The room was ohk, but the shower was not functioning well as the water would jump off the shower glass to the floor. The Wifi connection was bad one could not even check emails. The food was good I enjoyed them, thanks to the chef.

If you are looking for a lovely clean, safe, pretty self catering place (microwave and hob) to stay. Fridge freezer is big and froze my freezer packs well for the road. Great choice.
The food in the restaurant is no fuss simple food, with great service from Oneisimus who will look after you from beginning to end. I can also recommend the breakfast too. It came recommended by a friend and I would recommend it on and stay again

This was actually our second time staying at Komati River Chalets. The location is stunning. Service was excellent and efficient. Our stay was an overnight one, so we had no time to explore. We slept comfortably and the AC had a heat setting which kept us warm through the winter night. The chalet was perfect for our family of six. We’ll definitely choose them again in future

I was booked in by Travel with Fair agent on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. After driving 9 hours to the premises I was unformed that there is no dinner. I called the agent who confirmed that they were quoted on a dinner, bed and breakfast rate. To put salt on the wound, the local kfc was closed leaving me with little choice on what to eat.

We have stayed at Komati River Chalets many times and I have found them to be consistently high standards. This time we tried out their restaurant. The meal was great and the Chef was extremely efficient and kept his cool despite being let down by the other staff who were supposed to be on duty. Thus he had to do everything. It did mean we had to wait for our meal but it was worth it and we were kept informed as he ran about the restaurant covering all duties.
Thank you.

Dirty. The train was loud and trucks also. Keeping us up all night. I had blood stains on my pillow. The cheese grater was durty and rusted, dont know why they would still keep it in the kitchen. Fridge would not close properly, microwave was broken. Kids and adults where full of bite marks as the house and beds where full of bugs. Was supposed to stay 3nights but only did one night.

At first they said they will give us a refund for one night, then afterwards refused. Also never offered to go with us to the chalet to check all our complaints. They just after I left try make as if I was lying about everything, trying to make me the bad guy.

This is a horrible place and the management is bad.

Can’t wait for their reply on this review. Denying everything and wanting their unhappy guests to look like they are making up stuff.
