We stopped in this extremely charming place for breakfast. The owner speaks great English and is a great chef. Our food was amazing and then scenery lovely. We had an issue with our rental car and the owners daughter took it into her own hands and called the rental agency!

Thanks so much for your nice review. The restaurant is called, Restaurante Caballo Negro, but many people just refer to the restaurant as Lucky Bug, which is the gallery and B&B. But glad we could help with your rental problems. Both the owner and her daughter speak fluent Spanish. The owner, not only speaks Spanish and English, but she is originally from Germany and that is her first language. She taught the other two to herself. Please come back and stay when you are in the area next time. Pura Vida

This cozy B&B was recommended to me by locals and they were right about everything. Spotless room with beautiful artwork and attention to the many fine details such as the local hand made soap packaged in a rainforest leaf. My balcony view overlooking the beautifully landscaped

Thanks for the nice review. The soap we have in the rooms is locally made and we sell larger bars and scrubs in our gallery. So glad that looking out at the property made you happy. It lifts our spirits also. Sometimes we just have to step back and truly appreciate where we are and not take it for granted. Please come back and see us the next time you are in the area. Pura Vida

Love these soaps, which you can buy at the gallery
February was very warm this year as opposed to last year. The beaches are normally hot, just different stages of hot at the beaches. Last year we had more rain than this year in both January and February. Monteverde is usually cooler than here in Nuevo Arenal. You will have a good time regardless.

Do you need a car to get around? How close is the closest little town?
Yes, it is several miles from the nearest small town (nuevo fortuna) and an hour from la fortuna. Nice refuge (quiet) place if you want to be absorbed by nature. I do recall seeing a few cabs in the area. Near the lake. Several excellent restaurants. I have been there multiple times (with my car)

Hola, The price for our Sun Suite, which will hold four people, is $99 for the first two people, and $15 plus 13% tax per night. That includes a full breakfast each morning. No, we do not have a pool, but we do have a small lake that people swim, kayak and canoe in. Please look at the website to see what the room looks like and the grounds. You will see the small lake. Pura Vida, Monika
