The receptionists are super nice and friendly, as for the cleaning service there are no complaints, everything is super clean and tidy. The security guy does his job completely. The buffet kitchen service and those who cleaned the tables had no complaints, everyone was super organized and fast. The receptionists are attentive to everyone. From my own experience, not every hotel brings you a duvet at 3:30 in the morning because you are cold and they bring you a table for the balcony out of necessity. If it were up to me I would return a thousand times. THANK YOU SO MUCH

I’ve been wanting to go to this hotel for many years and this year for taking an “offer” in Buscounchollo we have gone but I have to say that I’ve taken a disappointment and I doubt I will come back or recommend it. The treatment in general has been good, especially the head chef who I am very happy as the first day explained everything I can eat and what not for my intolerances (despite saying you can order a special menu, it was not offered). Scarce breakfasts for people with intolerances, you are very limited. At lunch and dinner, they tend to make meat very very very made so even with water it is not easy to eat that. We are talking about a 5* hotel which should have more pampering in that aspect. Another thing that bothered us a lot and that we discussed with the head of the dining room is that there was a child of about 6 years barefoot through the dining room, running and climbing up the empty armchairs, and even caused a waiter to drop the plates. The next day they entered the meal in swimming trunks, which is not allowed either but was not brought to their attention at any time. The spa outside... had never been to a spa where the water is freezing... Friendly treatment. We spent a day at the sports hotel and generally fine, but the treatment at dinner was not adequate, bad answers to ask about lactose-free yogurts and on top of that they had them outside the fridge, watching the head of the dining room scold the waiters in front of the customers... not a nice thing to see. The room we got was not bad. The sad girl's bed and cleaning, from the time we arrived to the time we left, I haven't approached the phone the amount of dust I had. I expected better in such a hotel.

My overall review is good, although there are many things to improve, and they offer and are not, but I understand that it is for being put back on track, and that the rest cover these shortcomings.

Positive things:
A multitude of activities, unbeatable treatment of staff, entertainers a ten, hearty and quality food, cleanliness, shows and beach club facilities are pretty good,

Negative things:
Saturated activities (you have to organize in time and book if you want to have space), queues at snack bars and the beach club even if you are premium and ultra-all-inclusive, indoor spa closed although they use it in advertising, and a little old-fashioned to be a spa *****, sliding floors of water parks.

But good are things that in our case are not paramount and have been perfectly replaced by others, so I would recommend the experience and if you would advise that the management give them importance.

What a shame! We were so looking forward to this holiday booked through on the beach and marketed as a 5 star hotel! We went all inclusive and then even stupidly upgraded to ultra all inclusive when we got there. Main points are the entire thing is supposed to be a resort of hotels and types of children orientated entertainment. But for some reason they have night clubs pounding music till all hours of the early morning directly downstairs from this apparent 5 star hotel! The food was good first couple days then completely fell of became incredibly poor quality and repetitive. Most of the people we encountered were very unhelpful and rude, this is with the exception of Salma in the Magic Sports hotel and Anna in the Italian restaurant! You are both truly wasted in this place.

Our first day there a group of very young men about 12 of them stole my 4 year olds beach ball and destroyed it and then started behaving like animals in the splash park so none of the actual kids could play, multiple people complained and the staff just stood there staring at them! Funny though cause when a 5 year old didn’t anything wrong they would started aggressively blowing their whistles.

We were given little to no information on how things worked, where things were or what our package included. What we did know about we were unable to book due to unavailability which when we upgraded we were assured we would have no problems with! We were supposed to also have our mini bar replenished which only happen once in 7 days!

Cleaners destroyed a cupboard door in our room and just left it leaned up against the wall with screws coming out of it!

Cleaners will also come in to your room whether you put up a sign asking them not to or not!

Don’t bother visiting Magic Land it is truly the worst place ever and should be shut down.

There are broken tiles and random building materials strewn around the streets.

A random Spanish man walked up to me and my child who was I had I my arms and blew cigarette spike directly in to his face.

Pretty sure there was no alcohol on any of the drinks we ordered and I swear this as fact as I am a light weight and couldn’t get tipsy even after multiple drinks!

Nothing will be translated for you if you are English and you will be made to feel like you are not wanted there by everyone from the staff to the other guests! I have never experienced anything like it in my life.

I will be complaining directly to the hotel and on the beach as this holiday has been seriously miss-sold!

We made the very best of it as we could but it we had to literally do the same thing everyday like ground hog day!

Response from Magic World Resort, Director General at Hotel Balneario 5
Responded 22 Jul 2024
Hello, we're sorry for the bad experience you had at Magic World. These have been months of intense work and, despite the efforts of the entire team, there may be services that have not met their expectations and that is why we are redoubling our efforts so that the guest experience is not affected.

This Hotel is a three star hotel at best. It certainly should not be advertised by UK Travel Companies as the English language skills here are seriously lacking. We arrived with two young children and 4 cases at 11 at night and no one helped us with our cases despite the fact that you come through the door and have to go down around 12 large steps to reach the reception. After a slow check in where we were given a map and little other knowledge of the hotel we took our own cases to the 11th Floor. The so called 5 star room consisted of a double bed with just a sheet for cover and a very battered pull out sofa bed for the kids. All the bedding was stained as was all the furniture and the net curtains on the door leading to the balcony, which hadn’t been swept for at least a week.

We were tired and slept. At 0900 we went to the buffet. The lifts are very small and there are people waiting at every floor so it takes a long time to get down to the lower floors. The buffet was carnage. None of the staff spoke any English and the food was of a quality that you would expect in a prison. Getting out was comical. A queue of 20 deep awaiting the lifts, the stairs are quicker.

The facilities are mostly closed, the apps aren’t user friendly and the WiFi isn’t any good if you need a decent connection for business like myself. By 1400 on our second day we had left and found another hotel a couple of hours drive away on booking.com. This was four star and I’m on my way as I write this. I guarantee it’s 10 times better. STAY WELL CLEAR

Response from Magic World Resort, Director General at Hotel Balneario 5
Responded 21 Aug 2024
To this day, the entire Magic family continues to work to modernize the resort. These have been months of intense work and, despite the efforts of the entire team, there may be services that have not met their expectations and that is why we are redoubling our efforts so that their experience is not affected. We have had problems beyond our control on the part of the contractors, supplies from outside Spain that caused delays due to force majeure. On the day of your arrival at the establishment we give you a welcome letter, where we inform you about Formula 24 and Post 24 Formula for situations similar to the one you tell us, and so that during your stay you can inform us about any deficiencies you find and can be solved while enjoying your holidays.

We went from June 21 to 23.
The staff knew nothing, more than 20 minutes to check in, that we had done it online, the room without gel, or shampoo, we ordered it several times and were told that it did not have. Waiting list to eat, they sent us to the cafeteria opposite and called us when there were free tables, I think they just opened the staff did not know anything, literally, I understand the frustration if you are not trained but a reception person was very very poorly educated. Summarizing well price, facilities and lousy staff. We will not repeat

We were looking for a hotel to spend 3 days in August and found this 5 star that to start with the only thing that has 5 stars is the price to start with we arrived at 13 and until four we were not given our room and also when we made the Reservation 1 DAY before we arrived we were called saying that there was a problem with the drain and until 4 and quarter did not decide which room to give us
The rooms are fine but if you want to call for something reception be clear because you will have to wait 2 hours to go down the elevator because it is stuck with people and broken
If you're on the 4th planet our case pays to use the safe because all the time people pass through the terrace and know what people are
Finally the firm the food pretty good than normal to be 5 stars but the organization if you are lucky to the first one you are assigned table and eat but sometimes you pass from one table to another because it is reserved for I do not know who and also when we arrived we were promised a few gifts for the inconvenience caused by the incident of the drain we arrived and suddenly no one knows anything

They could call it way From Santiago magic World, get ready to walk ..... the beach club with free access to all the hotels and apartments in the area, it doesn’t matter premium ultra everything or without bracelet is “ m the last” massed to more not able. Then try to book something that if you have to book even to breathe almost ..... and everything complete. Train that takes you to the places from 20:30 is mission impossible to ride so walk and walk.... The magic Sports show at 22:00 is repeated on the beach at the Aloha at 23:00. The beach hammocks shine by their absence. Very good marketing but really too many people for the money it costs. Very disappointed with the experience. Yes congratulations to the marketing team we are here because of you and good publicity. The Splash has the perfect name , people don’t stop falling and you make splashes on the floor , escarpines for everyone “bought of course” the parking has its guasa , if you stay in the spa is exterior for a fee 14€ day , but if you are in games is interior .... . But the aloha thing is amazing there is no difference of bracelets or payment the poor waiters keep sweating and serving with their best smile but there is much to improve ...... the buffet scarce variety but quality the truth. The very short moment animation, the teen zone too small for so much child overwhelms a lot. The only thing that is great is the play zone but there is no room for us to enter is everything occupied ... as I said at the beginning you have to book everything and everything complete. The only thing we have managed to book is the Polynesian and magic Land and tomorrow we will see what the path of Santiago magic World holds. Ah I forgot I paid extra for having views.....look at the picture please....

Totally mis-sold by On The Beach.
Definitely not a 5* hotel, do not be fooled by the misleading pictures and available amenities.
As everyone has commented on other reviews, the rooms are dated but comfortable.

The are three night clubs on the ground floor area at the rear of the hotel which open about 23:00 and are still going strong about 05:00, so don't expect any sleep if you leave you patio door open.

The hotel has one bar on the 3rd floor. The roof top bar is on the roof of the hotel next door and to be honest, it's not worth the bother. The Aloha bar is a 10 minute walk from the hotel.

There is one main buffet restaurant, the rest of them are scattered around the area and you need to book and pre-pay on the APP.

The outdoor pools are not connected to the hotel and you have to leave the hotel to access them. These pools also close for an hour at 14:00 each day so you have to leave the pool area completely.
The indoor spa pools are currently closed for refurbishment. They are falling to bits.

The food is good quality but it is repetitive and if you don't like fish or seafood, it will be a struggle to find something to eat. Remember, this is a Spanish resort for Spanish people.
Not many people speak English so expect to use Google Translate.

I arrived at the Hotel and my Reservation was cancelled as soon as I arrived and to solve the problem I was thrown until 17:00 in the afternoon without being able to make use of the Hotel I asked them in a compensatory way that the day of my departure was late, as the error had been from them who had cancelled my Reservation and refused it. To top it off, they returned my card, which took several days to arrive the money I had to spend on my vacation. I had to pay it back in a room with barely any money to enjoy. I had only three days of vacation and I was wasted half a day because they decided to cancel the Reservation because they said that we were going in a group and there were only five people one Reservation in the outdoor spa things closed the entire enclosed interior Old rooms kept me quiet and wet all the clothes I had in the closet because of a breakdown and the treatment of the Hotel staff was bad the only person who could be dealt with and put interest for the clients the Ester, the others did not put interest for anything the manager, a brunette with short hair was very unpleasant anyway I do not recommend it
