I was a bit apprehensive about this resort after reading a few negative reviews but I'm glad to say that my experience was nothing but fantastic. Each time I go to the Berg, I'm impressed with the quality of the accommodation offered, give or take one or two. From the time we entered the hotel, we were impressed with the service and hygiene, especially w.r.t. Covid. At reception, a lovely lady by the name of Zethu, assisted us and allocated a room with a fantastic view. The views across the hotel are absolutely stunning and then there's the beautiful Mkhomazi Waterfall where you could just sit and de-stress. There's ample activities to indulge in, we just went to relax. I could go on and on but you have to go there for the experience. The room was beautiful and very comfortable, had a gas heater which helped in the chilly weather, even though it was October.

Devrajh, Thank you for the amazing review of our property. We do have gems working for us and their hospitality and warmth are what makes Premier Sani Pass so special. The waterfall is just a quick stroll down a well kept path and the site for our Yoga mornings in summer. The weather in the berg is always strange and despite the amazing greenery the chances for snow are always around. We are glad you had such a great stay and we hope yo have you back soon.

OMG, my experience at this resort was just plain AWFUL!!!!! When I made my booking I asked for inter leading rooms as my daughter was travelling with us. Called and spoke to Zethu on 2 different occasions asking for this request. At no point during these 2 conversations with her was I told this was not possible. Needless to say, when we got there there was no inter leading rooms for us. We where shown to a suite - A 1 BEDROOM SUITE !!!! we are 3 people and I paid for 2 rooms!!!!!. This hotel expected my daughter to sleep on a sleeper couch in the lounge!!!! - WTF !!!!!! Just thinking about the audaciousness of the hotel manager who failed to call me over my entire stay - 2 nights leaves a very bad taste with me. The hotel manager avoided me for my entire stay which has lead me to believe that either he does not give a damn or believes that they are doing me a service by staying at his hotel!!!!! Adding to my woes, this hotel does NOT offer an Al La Carte menu, their only offering was a buffet at R225 per person. Seeing as how we do not eat beef or Pork their ONLY offering to me was chicken skewers - REALLY for R225 per person!!!!! Once again I asked to speak to a manager got an assistant and they then produced the most AWFUL Chicken Curry I have had the misfortunate of eating. My husband had 21 - I kind you NOT - 21 Cardamoms in his food - thus rendering this meal inedible!!!! . While waiting for our meal the staff did not even have the decency to offer us water!!!! The hotel's staff and management show absolutely no regard for their guests, they are blatant in their disrespect for you - their guest!!!!! I am a regular traveler and I have stayed at many different establishments - pick a Tsogo Sun establishment - I beg you - as they know how to treat their guests and their managers at their hotels are not indifferent to their guests!!!!!!

Mr & Mrs Smiley, thank you for raising your concerns about your recent stay at Premier Resort Sani Pass. It is indeed most unfortunate and regretted that you did not enjoy your time at our establishment, this despite the many positive interactions that you had with many senior members of my team, namely Amber, Brittaney, Michael, Wilfred, Brian and Zethu, to mention but a few. We realise your disappointment that we could not accommodate you in interleading rooms, and could only honour what was booked through your agent, Comair, for two standard rooms. We further appreciate the call that you had with Zethu, pre your arrival to request that you get interleading rooms. Zethu clearly explained that this could not be confirmed as the hotel was fully booked, however that she would gladly place you on a waitlist. A follow up call was made by your wife, later in the month, and our stance remained unchanged. On your arrival we again confirmed that your reservation was made through Comair, the booking agent, for 2 standard rooms. We then offered you a suite, and that your daughter could share the room with you. I must make it clear that at no stage did we expect you to share, we were merely exploring options to make you comfortable. 2 executive rooms, non-interleading, became available, and you opted for this arrangement. The hotel did not levy a surcharge, a windfall of R1 200 on the standard rooms booked through Comair. Despite all our efforts, you still expressed your extreme dissatisfaction. As a further gesture of goodwill, you were offered a complimentary dinner for the 3 of you which you gladly accepted. We had a wonderful “Braai” spread which you did not wish to partake of. Michael, our Public Relations Manager, then offered that the kitchen to make you something else which you gladly accepted. Amber, Michael and Wilfred were present in the dining room and all three interacted with you at various times, whether to check on your satisfaction or talk about activities on offer. Brian was at reception on the day of departure, and you confirmed that all was well. How then, despite your interaction with so many senior Associates, could we come up so short? I would be very happy to call you to discuss further. Sincerely, Marthinus Stander

Our stay at Sani Pass Premier Resort was a perfect end to an epic 24 day road trip. This hotel is beautiful, classy and exudes old world charm. The staff were incredible, in particular, Michael, the Restaurant Manager, and Hotel and Group Executive Richard Bray, who paid attention to the smallest of details. Excellent food, excellent service and a beautiful hotel. Slightly more attention could be given to the rooms, as they are just a little bit plain for the price you pay.

Wendy, it was great having the opportunity to be the cherry on top after your road trip. The first bit of rain has certainly made everything green and the weather has changed to summer in an instant. Michael is an absolute gem and I will certainly pass on the kind words. Richard leads by example and we all look to follow this. I will certainly have a look at where we can improve as per your comments and we will continue to work on the service and food. We hope to see you back here soon.

We booked with the specific intention to play golf and drive the pass. The golf course is non existing . There are two identifiable greens , with flags. Tee boxes unmarked ; course layout not traceable. Described by reception as " in slightly bad shape". Total disappointment. No peaceful sleep with A/C noise . We did not use the A/C! Good food. Friendly staff. Buildings in need of TLC. Used cutlery outside rooms for 2 days. Will not recommend

Pathetic experience, upon arrival your front desk staff have no idea how to manage a queue as another guest walked up the stairs and was greeted and assisted before me, whilst i waited in the queue. When i went to the restaurant after checking in, the waitron promptly reminded me that I hadn’t paid my bill for the previous day! This was within earshot of other guests and was extremely embarrassing for me and immensely rude of her. When i enquired what basis she had for accusing me of such a thing seeing that she didn’t have any of my information, such as my name nor room number, she just says I thought it was you, with no apology forthcoming! We went to the lounge had a few drinks and requested that they be charged to our room and we would settle on checkout (standard practice at every hotel we’ve ever stayed in) Not the case at this place, as someone thought it was a great idea to incessantly call my room between 10:30pm and 11:00pm to inform me that “there were room charges and he wasn’t balancing!” Absolutely shocking behavior with absolutely no regard for the guest. Pathetic service, unprofessional and staff lacking experience! Your staff needs some serious training and the rooms need a serious cleaning, towels and blankets are unusable and considering we are going through a pandemic, you guys need to seriously be aware of hygiene. Also it would be great if someone informed us that the water in the hotel is not for drinking. As beautiful as the place is i will not be staying here again!
