Experience a true 'White' winter in the Drakensberg enjoying the extreme cold and inspirational views of snow capped mountains. Further activities on-site include swimming, chess, snooker, table tennis, croquet, petanque, volleyball, a poker table, putt-putt, & fly fishing and pony rides. The golf course setting includes 10 greens and 18 tees and is challenging for the better golfer, but still friendly for the beginner and lady golfer. We recently visited Premier Resort Sani Pass on a family holiday and we were extremely disappointed with the hotel and the overall experience. When we checked into our room at 3pm housekeeping were still busy making up the room. We only realised that evening when we were going to bed at 9:30pm that the door to our hotel room wouldn't lock. Maintenance couldn't fix the door so we were eventually moved to another room by 10:30pm - that room hadn't been cleaned properly from the previous guests - there were still dirty glasses and other items left behind. The service in the hotel restaurant was appalling. For lunch we ordered a chicken salad, a hamburger and two pizzas from the menu. We were told the salads were not available, there were no pizza bases and that although we could order the burger it would not include most of the toppings as they were out of stock. Basic beverages like coke and iced tea were also not available. I asked to see the F&B manager who said they had been very busy so they didn't have stock of most items! He then said he could do one pizza as long as it was a margarita and substitute the salad for a toasted sandwich. When it arrived the pizza was made from cheddar cheese and chopped tomatoes and the base was burnt. The toasted sandwich was also burnt. Most of the hotel's amenities are clearly not being maintained. The golf course is practically unplayable - the fairways haven't been mowed in weeks, a number of the greens don't have flags and the bridges connecting several of the holes are "closed" for maintenance. The swimming pool was green and the tennis courts are derelict. Eventually I asked to see the rest manager who called me the following day. He asked that I email him my concerns when I get home so that he has it in writing. I pointed out we were still due to stay there for another 2 days so a number of these issued could be addressed before we left. It was such an unpleasant experience we decided to leave a day early. After mailing the resort manager with my concerns when we got home, he replied with a two line email saying- "I have discussed this with my team and would like to offer you 20% compensation on your stay in terms of a refund. I have forwarded my account details to him 2 weeks ago - still no sign of the refund. They seem determined to compound an already bad experience. The location of the hotel is spectacular but sadly we certainly won't be going back there again.

The facility is well maintained. The views are spectacular. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The food however needs a revamp. A menu change is required to cater for all patrons. The serving stations at the buffet breakfast was poorly manned and we had to stand in long lines for fried eggs. The old years eve meal and party was disappointing and could do with a make over

Two nights stay during a 20 day group tour (17 pax) in SA. Room 501 (cabin type) good size, well equipped and clean, good mattresses. Luckily there was also heating in the room although it made a lot of noise. There was rather major issue IMO...the lack of water pressure in the shower, the fact that the hot water was barely look warm after very a long wait and the water was brown coloured. Keycard didn't work on two occasions. Dinner as well as the breakfast were great ! Friendly staff in the restaurant.

We booked for 6 and was absolutely delighted by the excellent service we received by the resort staff. From the reception staff to the restaurant , everyone was so friendly and very willing to help. Most of us where vegetarians and we were so pleased with the buffet variety and the chef went out of his way to cater for us. We celebrated a 50th bday and the staff were so willing to help to make it memorable. Thank you for an enjoyable weekend

This was my first visit since 2015 and the hotel and service were much improved. August is never the best time to visit the Drakensberg, being at the end of winter and extremely dry, the rivers are just a trickle and the beautiful gardens were just waiting for the Spring rains. I booked the Winter Special on a B & B basis at a 30% discount. It was very good value considering I was on my own. My Standard room was very nice with a small veranda but had only a shower and there was no view of the main gardens or mountains. The breakfast buffet was very substantial and catered for every taste. The "new" heated indoor pool is amazing and being mid-week and out of season was generally very quiet. The staff were very friendly and always helpful.

We are a family of 4 and got two lodges next to each other. The rooms were spacious. The airco can be used as heating which is necessary in the winter period. Although, it makes a lot of noise. The resort has some entertainment facilities like a swimming pool, table tennis, horse riding, … It is a good location for visitting the Sani pass.

During our recent stay at the resort, we had a somewhat mixed experience. While we had a great time during our previous visit, this time we encountered some issues that left us feeling a bit disappointed. On the positive side, the resort's beautiful surroundings were just as enchanting as we remembered. On the day after arrival, we had a meeting with the management to discuss some concerns we had and they kindly gifted us a fruit and chocolate platter, which we appreciated as a gesture of goodwill. However, there was no follow-up on the matters we discussed. One of the areas that fell short during our stay was dinner at the restaurant. The lack of a reservation system made it chaotic, and despite being promised a table after a short wait, we were left waiting for much longer. The food itself was good, but we noticed several issues, such as dishes running out frequently at breakfast, mislabeling of items, and some undercooked items (crumpets) or egg shells present in the breakfast order. These may seem like minor details, but they reflect a lack of attention to detail and overall management. While our room was new and comfortable, it had a few issues that needed attention. Initially, the basin lacked a plug, but it was quickly resolved by the staff. However, when we reported a flooding issue in the bathroom after a shower, we received no response from the maintenance team or housekeeping. It took a second complaint for a manager to address the problem, but the towels used to mop up the water were taken away were not replaced. The presence of mold on the walls near the shower was concerning and indicated a recurring problem. We were also disappointed when some kids' activities were canceled without any prior communication or suitable alternatives. It was only after we spoke with the management that the youth team became more involved, which our son enjoyed. Overall, the resort has the potential to be a wonderful destination, but improvements are needed. The open-air play area raised safety concerns, particularly the trampoline without any safety skirting. Addressing these issues would significantly enhance the overall experience for guests, especially those with young children. Though our stay had its ups and downs, we still managed to enjoy ourselves. However, based on our recent experiences, we may explore other accommodation options when we visit the region next time. We hope that the management takes the feedback constructively and makes the necessary improvements to create a more satisfying experience for future guests.

I arrived here on Sunday to no hot water. It is now Tuesday afternoon and still no hot water. It is extremely cold and it is snowing. There are certain sections of the hotel that does have hot water. However management and staff are unwilling to change our rooms. When requested the response was "those rooms are already allocated to the guests due to arrive. " So here is my question, priority is given to guests who have not yet arrived. Concensus being, once they have our money , they don't care. Miserable stay. Will never return here.
