This hotel is located next to the Kusatsu railway station. It is themed to JFK, with the President posing for photos in the corridor connecting the north and south wings. The lounge is a replica of the Oval Office. Even the carpet in the hallways is presidential. My room was comfortable and the breakfast was very nice. My only complaint was the internet. Each room has its own network. Apparently my room uses an older version of encryption, so the wi-fi turns off automatically after 20 seconds! The lobby wi-fi uses a modern system. The front desk clerk came up to my room and tried the wi-fi code for the room next door. That code is up to date and works fine in my room. To communicate, I used English to Japanese translation. It was very frustrating until the problem was solved.

If you’re in Kusatsu on business and it’s a short trip, this hotel is convenient as it is located next to Kusatsu station. There are food options around the area and a Lawsons convenience store attached to the hotel. As the price dictates, it is very basic - as in one pillow on the bed, basic. The rooms are quite old but clean. In-room ironing amenities are available. Complimentary bottled water, green tea and Coke provided in the fridge.

Stayed 3 nights in their North Wing Deluxe Twin Room in Mid-May and quite happy with that. Room is large as per Japanese hotel standard (of course it was because we booked the Dx Twin lol). Decoration is in US style. The hotel does offer free mini bar with 1 bottle of water + 1 bottle of tea + 1 pack of potato chips. If that is not enough for your snack time, you can always go to Lawson on 1/F for more. Also it is good to know that the TV in the rooms support screen mirroring for various usage. Great accessibly as the hotel is right next to JR Kusatsu Station, providing you an easy way going between Kyoto / Hikone / Nagahama and even Kansai Airport, as some Ltd Exp Haruka do starts (some Haruka in the morning to KIX) / terminates (some leaving from KIX in evening) at Kusatsu Station. Self drive is also a good idea around Lake Biwa and there are 2 car paeks next to hotel the and never have a problem finding a slot. However parking is JPY 500 per night. The taste of breakfast is great - REALLY great. Lots of selections in Western and Japanese style ( with local famous dishes) with a salad bar. Taste is fantastic and worth paying for that. The only drawback is that they offer the same dishes for 3 days, and it will be great if they can change the menu - though the taste of the food is great, having same selections for 3 days is indeed boring. If I need to say the weak point of the hotel...i think the hotel is good for period that is not longer than 2 nights. Apart from the breakfast issue mentioned before, there is no self laundry if you are staying longer period. If you need to clean your clothes, you have the options of either using the expensive hotel laundry service or walk about 8-10 minutes for the coin laundries, which there are two near the hotel. Overall that is a great hotel to stay and recommend adding breakfest to your stay. Oh, you may ask why the president is related. In fact Mr President JFK is waiting you at the other end of the corridor connecting North and South wing. Feel free to shake his hand and post it to Facebook. lol

My room on the ninth floor was very comfortable and contained everything a traveller required. Breakfast was excellent with both Japanese and Western choices. The hotel was conveniently situated next to the station and a grocery shop opened into the hotel foyer which was very helpful for travellers. The staff were, as in all the hotels we stayed, very polite, helpful and efficient.

Just few steps away from the JR station. The LAWSON is just located at hotel's 1st floor. Staffs don't speak much English, but still try to help customers as much as possible. Free bottles of water and tea and snack everyday.

Next to the JR station ( 2 mins walk ) ...Boston Plaza with its new south wing rooms looks very grand . Good location . Stayed at the south wing , which I was told was built later on. The walk thro the south wing corridor will take you back to JFK days , as his photos are all over the place . Room was spacious and comfortable . Tried both the restaurants ~Liberty restaurant serves good western dishes , while the Japanese restaurant ( one has to walk to the basement ) serves equally delicious sea food . Overall, worth the 2 nights at the hotel .

This hotel is next to the railway station. Excellent location. It provides guest with whole day parking for 500 yen. The rooms very very good size. Very unlike most of the Japanese hotels. Around the hotel are many restaurants that are within walking distance. There is also a 24 hrs Lawson convenience shop at the basement.

It is so near the train station that u just need to get off the escalator and u are already 10m from the hotel. It is very convenient. The place obviously decorated it like an old fashion american hotel. Very nice and clean. The room is spacious and amenities are good. I cant hear the train at all. And the bed is nice and not too soft or hard.

Stayed here as part of a large touring sports group. Rooms were comfortable, some snacks and drinks (water and green tea) are complimentary in the room each day, which is a nice touch. The wifi in the room was excellent. I had a room right next to the lifts/elevators, but found it very quiet despite the proximity to the lifts. There is a 'Lawson' convenience store at the ground level of the hotel, from memory it is open 24hrs, and is very convenient for snacks or meals. The hotel breakfast is a good assortment of western and Japanese style foods, and good value when included in room price. The station is across the road an easily accessible. Around the corner is a large shopping mall, for food, shopping etc
