The hotel is quite wit. You can see it and you can smell it. A lot of gold-ish even on the elevators in the lobby. That was trendy some decades ago I assume. It is conveniently located next to a mall and some other shops. The service is excellent as well as the breakfast.

Niihama is in fact not a very popular tourist location in Shikoku. This is the only and likely the best hotel that you can find in Niihama city. Generally speaking, the hotel is well located and reasonably decent for business trip or short stay. However, it is a bit understaffed, even without manning in the concierge (I observed for two days). The room is of a typical design. It is generally spacious, clean and tidy. The breakfast is just average with not much variety, especially for western style food. In gist, there is nothing very good or very bad for this hotel.

We recently stayed in Rihga Royal Hotel Niihama for 13 nights. The staff are very nice and try hard to communicate in English. The rooms are a good size and clean. Some of the interior is a little worn and shabby. Beds were comfortable. Shower over bath. The buffet breakfast is quite good with Japanese and Western options, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, noodles, meatballs, toast, croissants, rice, soup, etc. Location is very good as its next to a large shopping mall. Bus stop across the road which goes to the train station in 15 minutes. We didn't try the restaurants in the hotel as they are very expensive.

Stayed there for a night during a business trip. It's a big hotel but wasn't crowded when I was there. The room was clean and nice and quiet, I had my room facing the mall and the mountains, but nothing to complain. I did not have much interaction with the staffs except for when I asked for the WIFI password in the lobby, they were polite and understand English. So are the rest of the staff who were very polite. Breakfast is located on top floor with city view, they have both Japanese and Western selection, although not much but all the basics are there. Across the hotel, there's a Uniqlo shop, a suit shop, and a steakhouse, which is convenient. Next to the hotel is also a big Aeon mall, I walked there through a big book shop and the parking which took less than 5 minutes. I think the location is good.
