Stunning location on Gordon's Bay make this a good choice if you want to be on this part of the cape or in season for the sea. I was there in winter, but it was still a great view. My room (and many) have terraces. Service is very friendly. Vegetarian food leaves something to be desired, but they do try. The rooms have some oddities. The minibar fridge has a glass front and lis lit inside - so it makes the room very bright at night - you have to cover it with a towel. The reading lamps an each side of the bed were so high that you have to get up to turn them on/off. There are no plugs on either side of the bed to charge your devices! The terraces are not private. They are linked across rooms so someone could wander in front of your window - was not a problem when I was there. Despite these idiosyncrasies, it was a pleasant stay.

Returned for our second time staying here and once again enjoyed our stay. We had one of the larger suites and it was excellent with a big bedroom and bathroom and a large lounge and dining area and a small kitchenette space plus a balcony each side, one overlooking the marina and a smaller one the other side facing the beach. Rooms are well furnished with clean and modern finishes. It's situated on a boardwalk area, with quite a few bars and restaurants around it and also right next to the beach. My only complaint would be regarding breakfast. We'd booked a room inclusive of breakfast but in arrival at the restaurant were told categorically that our rate didn't include breakfast. So I had to go back to the room to retrieve our booking paperwork, go to reception with it and prove we did have an inclusive rate. Although at the front desk it also showed breakfast not being included, to be fare to the lady on reception she just took a copy of our booking and said she'd sort it out, then escorted us to the restaurant and informed the lady to let us in. The whole incident did waste a good 20 minutes of our time though when we really wanted to be eating our meal. A lot of the buffet food wasn't at all warm and one of the coffee machines was broken so there was a long wait for coffees. Overall though, we had a good stay and would return but maybe next time we will not get a rate with breakfast and go elsewhere for it.

We really enjoyed out time at the Krystal Beach Hotel but also the interaction with the service team there. I had done a booking through a third party booking agent but when interacting directly with the hotel staff (thanks Sibu) they were friendly and professional. They go out of their way to try to assist you.
In terms of the check-in is quick and efficient, there is underground parking if required. The rooms are need and modern and other than the shower which was smallish and had water hitting the bathroom floor, the room catered to all our requirements. The hotel staff took care of our special requirements and arrangements with no hassles. In terms of the restaurant, Aziza took care of all of our Halaal dietary needs - she goes out of her way to cater for her guests. The dinner she arranged was top notch and then she had made special arrangements for breakfast. There is a wide range on offer for the buffet breakfast, it was busy but there was enough space and staff around to ensure all guests needs to met. Aziza certainly made for a more enjoyable stay - you could see the effort she puts in for all her guests when it came to catering halal.
We will definitely be considering returning there for another visit. If you going with a family try to get the family suite.

On check-in reception informed me that i was only booked for BB Only, which was incorrect as i was booked on full account. I had to follow up with the travel agent myself for for a voucher and meal details, your reservation dept is supposed to do that and before guests arrival, dont you go through your bookings/arrivals and make sure there are voucher and correct billing instructions ?
Thando from Rooms service was very cold and abrupt. She dropped the phone on me after i told her what i would like without a thank you or checking if there is anything else i wanted to order.
Between reception and the kitchen, it was not communicated that i would be collecting my lunch pack in the morning, i had to leave without it on my 2nd morning. My last morning same thing happened at reception as it was not made, no one knew anything about it.(it was battered fish which was not fresh, flavourless and oily.) don't prepare fish for lunch pack unless someone has requested it specifically, it was gross, and you don't even know if they will have refrigeration for it during the course of the day for Lunch.
Your food was terrible, no flavour and greasy...couldn't only manage literally a couple of bites on my first night the food was so bad from your room service. I tried the restaurant on the 2nd night hoping for a better meal but also it was dismal with you flavourless over cooked prawns...why would you overcook prawns and there was no seasoning.
Your ribs were the only thing decent i had for dinner on my last night. Your kitchen/chefs need to do better please, the food is bad.

Hi there. The stay was pleasant, although a bit distasteful at first. I arrived nearly 2 hours after check-in, and my room was not ready. This meant that I was standing around at the reception desk downstairs with my laptop, trying to complete a work related deadline. I was very unhappy about this, seeing that the information about our room was only disclosed to me after I made payment.
When we got to the room, it was not prepared the way that I requested. I had to ask reception twice to bring up the extra bed for my daughter. We didn't have enough toiletries for the 3 of us on the first night as only 1 bottle of each item was displayed, for 3 people. We also did not have slippers in our room as advertised.
Breakfast was okay. I appreciated having a good halaal breakfast, but the dining room was a mess and we waited long to find someone that could help us order. We also ordered some pancakes and after a very long time of waiting, we went to enquire and the kitchen staff said that they simply forgot our order.
I am planning another trip from the 9th to 12th FEB 2024, so if Krystal Beach is willing to agree to improved hospitality, then I will definitely book again.

Good day, Your feedback about the level of service and lack of attention to details certainly does not reflect the high standard of service and quality that KB is usually proud to offer - it's highly valued and will be used constructively to maintain and improve however we can. Without comments like yours, we would never know when we are doing right, but more importantly, when we are doing wrong! Thank you for assisting us to strive for service excellence.

The staff was really nice. Our first greeting of the hotel wasnt great. We had to wait a bit to check in and was advised to go and enjoy their cocktail hour. We were met with bars full of empty dirty glasses and staff running every way as cocktails was coming from another bar...which I just blame on poor training and bad management, it is not the staffs fault. Then we went to our room only to realize we can not use our lovely balcony as it was full of bird poop, the chairs and the floor. The room was clean atleast. We ordered room service which was absolutely disgraceful, Arancini balls where so yucky and sour, Jalapeño poppers was good last year I think and the beef tataki was the most over cooked and bland beef I have ever had. That food should never have left the kitchen.

What a splendid surprise. The hotel feels dated on the outside but she is beautiful. The staff are well trained and friendly. I loved my room and its view of the beach. All the rooms have balconies and it’s beautiful to sit outside sipping an iced cold beer or a wine spritzer. The food is standard hotel fare but there are stunning restaurants in Somerset West if you want to explore the local area. It’s a value for money visit and families especially the children will love the pool, the sea and all the outdoor activities.

The rooms were spotlessly clean and modern. Fully pressurized hot showers. Views from the duplex family room were exceptional. Good basement parking. The staff at the hotel were exceptional. From the check in manager to the gentleman making eggs to order at breakfast, staff were smiling, polite and really pleasant. I loved this. The breakfast selection was really superb. The staff were refilling platters efficiently and they were attentive. The pianist created the perfect ambience to begin your day whilst enjoying the leisurely breakfast buffet.

We had lunch here and was served by Nkosinathi who duties that day was drink server, cook and cleaner. Poor Nkosinathi was busy but not flustered what do ever. He still remained polite, attentive, calm and professional at all times. What a lovely gentleman. They hotel should be happy to have such a pleasant and industrious individual working for them.

We stayed as a family of 4 (2 small kids aged 5 and 3) and the room was very comfortable. Breakfast, lunch and room service were all excellent. We enjoyed our stay. Hotel is a good location, close to the beach for walks and the restaurant has a beautiful view of the bay.
