What a wonderfully relaxing stay to end our South African adventure. Olivier and Yamin were welcoming hosts, who were attentive throughout our stay. The hotel is set in a great location in front of the beach and the garden and patio are a perfect place to sit and enjoy the view - especially the sunset. We chose a luxury room with ocean view, which was beautifully styled, spacious and with an extremely comfortable bed and bedding. Thank you Olivier and Yamin.

Its more like a Feast on the Bay. A feast for the eyes from the great views over the bay and beach. A feast for the stomach, from a fantastic breakfast with so much choice of quality food. And a beast of a room ...I did try to fit feast in again, but failed! LOL .. spotlessly clean, plenty of space in bedroom and bathroom, delightful furnishing and decorations. Beach front location and 5-10 minute stroll to some very good restaurants and bars. With the warmest of welcomes, and helpful advice, where nothing is too much trouble for the lovely hosts Olivier and Yamin...big thanks from us for a fab three nights.

The owners welcomed us, last minute booking due to recent weather storms, with such outstanding hospitality, that all stress were long gone. The splendid crisp all whites together with the comfortable king size bed, relaxing atmosphere in a great location and superb breakfast options, will make us return for a longer than our two night stay. We can't praise this Guesthouse highly enough! It sits right by the sea, overlooking stunning Gordon's Bay. There is a beach ten steps away or a stunning pool in the immaculate back garden of the property. The rooms are large, bright and airy with King sized beds and quality linen. The bathrooms are huge. Each room has a fridge and kettle and some have mini Kitchens, which would be fantastic for longer stays. They also have their own water supply and generator. WiFi is excellent and the TV has Sky, BBC and CNN plus numerous other channels. This is often rare in SA . Security is excellent and numerous cars can be parked safely inside the grounds. Breakfast is superb with fresh fruit salad, cereal, cheese, cold ham, and cooked eggs, bacon, mushrooms and tomato. Six different types of tea and wonderful coffee plus three types of bread and jars of jam. And French music each morning as Oliver, one of the owners, is French and Yamin, his wife is Burmese . She is in charge of the decorations and housekeeping and it is all spotless! They are both excellent hosts giving advice on vineyards such as Ernie Els, Graff, Mont Marie, Tokara, and Avontuur to name but a few. They can also book restaurants, provide extra pillows and sort out any problems. They live on the property which is very important in our eyes! Manor on the Bay is 22 miles from the Cape Town International Airport and an easy drive to all the vineyards. So don't delay....make a booking here. You won't be disappointed!…

Exceptional location close to the beach with stunning sunset views. Quality linen and very comfy bed in our room . Hosts Olivier & Yamin are so friendly and helpful. A beautifully appointed room which was very spacious, loads of cupboards and a stunning bathroom. The bed and pillows were so comfortable and the line. Is excellent quality. The view is spectacular the bay and also towards the mountains. I stayed in room 1 which had a shared balcony with seats and a side door that opened to a private view . Th breakfast was very generous with both continental and hot breakfast options.the hosts Olivier and Yamin are so friendly and helpful and cannot do enough to make you feel welcome. Safe onsite parking and wonderful restaurants recommended within walking distance. Est of all they have just installed a full solar power system, which means you don’t even notice power outages and the wifi signal remains strong.. Thank you for a wonderful stay

In April 2023, we made the MANOR ON THE BAY in Gordon’s Bay our hub and home for 5 days, while exploring Cape Town and the wider region. An excellent choice in terms of both our home and its location as a hub. Reinvented since 2019 by its new owners, our attentive franco-burmese hosts Olivier and Yamin, and skillfully run with a French and South-East Asian touch, the MANOR ON THE BAY sits right on the shores of False Bay with panoramic views from its manicured garden and patio across the bay onto table mountain. At the end of our SA, Botsuana and Zimbabwe trip we spent 4 nights at the lovely place at Gordons Bay. The Guesthouse provides beautiful and spacious rooms with a view to the ocean. Also, in the yard there is a smaller pool, which helps since the sea is pretty cold. The Manor is located right at the beach and sea, only a pretty quiet road in between. The place is owned and managed by a young, very nice and very attentive couple, Olivier and Yamin. They had lots of very helpful advice about where to go and what to see. So, the 4 days become very short. If we manage to go to SA again we will probably get back to Manor an the Bay.

We've become used to excellent facilities and hospitality in South Africa's guest houses, and Manor on the Bay certainly didn't disappoint. The view of the bay and the mountains around Cape Town from our room high above the rest of the guest house was simply stunning. Owners Olivier and Yamin couldn't have been more helpful, changing our companions' room when it became clear that the climb up the stairs was a problem. The bedroom itself was extremely well equipped and comfortable, with a small terrace to sit out on. Breakfast too was excellent, with the best croissants we'd had in South Africa. Not surprising perhaps, considering Olivier is French! Thanks very much for an enjoyable stay.
