We loved the ambiance, room, wifi, watering hole, swimming pool, and spent a half hour with Sam the giraffe who played with us while we took tons of photos. You can touch the rhinos which came to the water hole nightly & we loved meeting up with the elephants as they ran to our vehicle for food. Two game drives are probably enough since its the same routine: ellie, hippo, rhinos, giraffe, etc and not really any other big game other than the resident ones. But lots of fun for a 2 day stay. 6PM is the free cheetah feeding, one time was enough. You will get your best photos of big game from close up. Ask for a larger comforter for sleep (since they do have) since they barely only covered my feet or shoulders. but not both. This is a great beginning or ending to a safari trip for relaxing & close to Winhoek so easy to get a transfer if you don't have transportation. I loved this place & stayed 3 nights. More than 2-3 days would be boring so 2 is perfect.

Serenity at its best. I loved every bit of my trip. We were greeted by a tamed giraffe called Sam, we fed him too. The best part would be during meals, especially during dinner, one gets to see all animals at the waterhole. Animals like ostriches, antelopes, rhinos etc. I was in a room with the waterhole view too, wow great mornings i had waking up to creation at its best. The afternoon Game drive is a MUST, giraffe literally pose for pictures (cutest thing ever), an up close encounter with the elephants, was out of this world , one needs to experience this at least once a life time. They have an amazing staff, especially the restaurant, great food too. the lodge is well located, not too far from the coast, nor central Namibia. Namibia is such a beautiful place.

First impression of the lodge is nothing that will stay in remembrance.
Friendly staff, throughout the lodge, very helpfull when you approach them.

What however you will remember for the rest of your life ist the shere variety of wildlife and close encounters, which are a guarantee during your stay.
One would argue to be in a Zoo, perhaps, however it is the vision of the owner to be close to the wild. This needs to be respected, accepted and enjoyed!

The accommodation itself will take you back to 1995. Don't expect modern or newly renovated rooms, rather dark, old-fashioned houses which were seemingly only maintained where absolutely needed. In this department is surely alot of room for improvement to make the lodge blis for the traveler visiting Namibia.

The game drive, rather a purpose seeking mission, for further close encounters with stunning creatures. However, certainly worth the trip, as even when the elephants "lean" into the gameviewer, safety is first priority and we never felt unsafe at any point in time.

Personaly I'd only rate 2,5 points, as I think the accommodation forms part of the full experience, which unfortunately needs alot of attention.

A lot of animals could be seen during the dinner and breakfast. The animals are friendly and one can make great pictures! This is just magnificent!

The worst part is the staff, except for the restaurant they were extremely rude, on the reception and the guy who was feeding the animals extremely rude! Before we were allowed to feed the animals, now when I asked him he was like “you want to take my job or what?”

And make sure to bring the towels back from the swimming pool otherwise you risk to make that same guy (who feed the animals) angry and might hear not nice things, but meanwhile no one tells you when you finish you should bring towels to the receptionist.

We were in the same lodge like two years ago, huge difference now. If you want to be offended its the right place to go!

Such a peaceful place and has very amazing staff. The food is good and the game drive is a MUST! The elephants come to the car!
The restaurant overlooks a waterhole where different animals come to drink. You can literally touch them and feed them.

Omaruru Game Lodge is definitely worth a visit because it has a waterhole next to the restaurant which is well visited. Over the years, and because the animals are also fed, they come quite close and it is quite spectacular. The food is excellent and the game-drive great to participate in once.

This was our second trip to Omaruru and they were so accommodating of our large group of 15+. Everyone was blown away by the amazing views of the animals just outside their rooms. The dinner was outstanding! The dinner staff took very good care of us.

The game drive was phenomenal as the elephant feeding is one of the main attractions. The staff kindly packed our team lunches to go upon order and request for our drive back into Windhoek. Everything was great! Thank you to Connie in the main office for making sure that every detail was taken care of. Can’t wait to return!

The good part about this place is absolutely the animals. You see them up close and can even touch them which is obviously a amazing experience! Our guide was the best! He was really trying his best to find what we wanted to see.

The bad part - pool area was really dirty. Lots of drunk people in dining area making a noise.

One word... Phenomenal. Good facilities, exceptional friendly staff, great service, fabulous food and amazing nature and animals. As a Namibian living in the UK this was the perfect coming home break to reconnect. A wealth of well cared for wildlife available at both the lodge waterhole and on fame drives. Well done, highly recommended.

The staff is friendly, welcoming and always ready to help. The most significant experience is the wild life at the waterhole and around the lodge. What made this experience average is the rooms, they could definitely do with some modernisation and renovations.
