We stayed two nights in an en suite tent. The tent was pretty good but had lots of gaps for mosquitoes to get through, glad we had mosquito nets on our bed. The restaurant was pretty good for lunch and dinner, but breakfast was a bit disorganised and the chef couldn't be bothered chopping vegetables for an omelette so we didn't get one.

But the bar is good and Donald, the bar manager, is a superstar who made sure my birthday there was one of the best ever!

The pool was a little slimy, but it is the wet season. We went in but didn't put our heads under.

A warm welcome.
The cabanes were of a good such and functional although the air on units were a bit old and noisy.

Dinner as a group was a letdown as a lot of the food came out cold.
Breakfast was a much nicer experience.

The bar area was enjoyable and with several locals as well as tourists.

Pool area very clean.

The lodge is definitely in need of tlc. Rooms are comfortabe and clean. We spoke to security guard outside and our vehicles were fine the next morning. Food was ok would definitely recommend the pizza.

Stayed here two years ago as part of a road trip so decided to make it our first stop once again. Very welcome place to pull in too after a 600 km drive from Gaborone, friendly smiling helpful staff, very inviting swimming pool, and ice cold beers from the bar. As usual service was good, food was good, and the bar as always, very good.
Will be back here on the next trip I'm sure.

Shame - not sure who they cater for anymore….. Definitely not the place that was recommended. Far better place in the region. Website also way outdate - none of the attraction promises - not even water in the pool…. Apparently after management changes it has gone way backwards……. Give this a miss

It's a long drive from Gaborone to Ghanzi but well worth it when you arrive at Tautona lodge. Have stayed here before and I can't fault it. The staff are very friendly and their service wonderful. Love the place.and will certainly be staying there again.

We spent a weekend at Tautona. Rooms were clean but too many Mosquitos at night. I wish they had bed nets. The dinner at the restaurant was really good or at least my T-bone steak. There are lots of beautiful birds which make for a great walk in the morning. Best part of my stay was listening to the lions roaring at night and in the early morning.
The reception staff need to up their game though. They were not helpful at all.
Overall though it was an ok place to stay.

What can I say?!?! Mystical place is the one where our stay starts with an adventure. The person at the reception, without asking what car do we have, sends us to the tents in the campsite, which is 2-3 km distant from the main structure of the hotel. The road to the tents is very sandy for our small car.
But things don't come by chance. We have problems, but for these problems there’s is some managerial staff that comes for our rescue, very smart and friendly. After these adventures all went only for the better. Nice change with an upgrade with no extra cost, in front of the swimming pool. we became the mascot of the lodge, very funny the manager staff, nice cuisine.
At the night unexpected visits. The animals of the bush grazed the grass in front of our bungalow.

Not impressed with size, arrangement and decor in the room. The bathroom had hanging electrical cables for various connections. Gave an impression that the room and bathroom were an after thought. Had planned to stay two nights but checked out early the following morning

The rooms are adequate albeit a bit small. There are larger rooms available at a higher price but these do not have showers in the bathrooms. Mosquitos are a problem at night. In the smaller rooms the bathrooms are a bit small as well but served the purpose. Not the cleanest room that we have ever stayed in though. The grounds are magnificent and the swimming pool area is gorgeous. The pool is large and welcoming.
The restaurant serves reasonable meals and the bar is well stocked. Breakfast was however, not very good. At the price one would expect a lot more. The waiters and barmen are not very well trained and this needs to be resolved by the management.
It is OK for a one night stop over though but next time we will rather look elsewhere.

Good day, we do have accommodation for the weekend. OUr Chalets are fully booked but we do have our Meru Tents available and standard rooms. 150km from Tautona Lodge to the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, Tsau Gate.
