Hotel is around 35 minutes walking distance from the centre, close to European offices. It is clean, people are extremely friendly, there is a kitchen where you can take free drinks! Our room was clean and comfortable, with a nice bathroom. There was a big common living room in front of our room.
There is a garage, but the entrance and exit is very narrow and not suitable for cars over 4,80 long. You will have some problems entering and going out.
Last time I stayed here I booked a Suite which which looked like a split level apartment. I ended up with a top floor 2 bedroom apartment with huge balcony.
This time I booked just a double room.....I ended up with a 2 bedroom apartment with a small balcony overlooking the communual garden areas.
So I can only speak for these apartments which are massively spacious and well equipped.....the one I had this time had full kitchen, washing machine, dishwasher, tumble dryer, huge dining table, sofa seating for 5, central heating, patio table & chairs, bath with shower, additional shower, separate toilet, 2 king size bedrooms, power sockets everywhere etc etc.
Breakfast has a reasonable selection and a nice extra touch is that they let you come and get drinks and snacks from this area any time you like.
Entrance into the building and into your room is all done on keycode, which I really like, means I don't have a key to carry round or a card to go wrong/get lost.
The biggest negative for me was noise, the bedrooms in the apartment are streetside and the windows let in every sound from outside, I was unfortunate enough on my second night to have a differ start work at 6am right out front.....obviously the Hotel can't help this but the poor soundproofing does need noting.
Breakfast is very quiet, i'd quite like some background radio or music to make it less uncomfortable when eating there alone.
But other than those minor points it was a nice stay.
We visited Brussels for three days and in looking for a hotel Housing Brussels kept appearing. It turned into a good choice. It's a little different than usual hotels. You check in at one building and then the room we stayed in was in another building across the street. The room had a complete kitchen, bed, fold out bed and bath with shower. The room was fairly basic, but was clean and comfortable. The little touches that the hotel does made it excellent. They put out a variety of snacks during the day. A nice touch that we tried a couple of times. Breakfast had a good variety of foods, not overwhelming, but a wide enough variety to be filling and not boring for the couple of days we were there. There is also a very nice courtyard where next to the breakfast area so you can eat outside if the weather is nice. The man who worked at the desk was extra helpful. He arranged for a cab for us. I asked where we could get our laundry done and he said they could do it for us -- for no cost. And they did a great job.Whatever we needed, he was more than willing to do to help his guests. All in all, it turned out to be a good stay.
Housingbrussels is located in the quiet neighbourhood of Schuman area - a 15 minute drive or 30 min train ride from the Grand Place. This is not a hotel, it is more of an apartment type accommodation where you have to key in your assigned password to gain access to the building. Same applies to the parking area.
Our family booked a 3 bedroom apartment complete with living room, a dining room, kitchen with induction cooker, oven water heater, ref, and dishwasher, toilet, 2 shower bathroom with bath tub, and a laundry / iron room with washing machine and dryer. All amenities are provided - soap, shampoo, towel, dish soap, laundry soap, cleaning supplies and basic kitchen supplies. The veranda outside the dining area is the best spot to have coffee in the morning or late in the afternoon.
My husband’s nieces were very excited that they asked me to video them while they tour the whole apartment. Had a good laugh in between when we discovered that what was on the table were chocolates (and not eraser, soap or some kind of table decor). We were happy too that we are not cramped in a hotel room where there’s hardly space to open your luggage.
There are only 2 apartments on the floor where we stayed. We didn't realise that the other room was also occupied because all rooms are soundproof making the stay more peaceful. The apartment is modern, clean and organised. Price is pretty decent compared to hotels near the tourist area. It was spacious than expected. Restaurants and groceries are accessible in the area.
Wifi is fast and stable. Delicious buffet breakfast is served everyday. I forgot to ask the type / name of pastry (more like a cheesecake) that was served on our 2nd breakfast - it was sooo good!!! If it is not too sunny, opt for a breakfast outside the dining area facing the garden. Free snacks are available in the kitchen, so if you feel like filling up your tummy , you can go down at the pantry area and grab your choice of drink (milk, beer, soda, juice, water), a handful of nuts or cereals, some cookies or pastries, fruits and chocolates. Everything is there, you just have to come and enjoy!
Would definitely recommend when staying in Belgium.
I don't know where to start with this one...Amazing breakfast, amazing service, the man at the reception is the most welcoming, informative and gracious I have ever seen. The rooms were great, the parking easy, the location is close to a bus station that within ten minutes gets you to the centre. There is a trick however. When you book a room there is a chance that the amount might not be taken from your card. So always have the total amount of the rent ready (either cash or card) when you go for the check in.
