Stayed here for 5 nights with my husband in July 2019. The room was amazing and very classy! lovely bedroom and bathroom, nice kitchen area with all necessities provided, lounge area with a flat screen TV and a balcony. Amazing value for the price. The outdoor pools were clean and sun loungers provided.
The location was great, supermarket nearby and places to book excursions such as the Siam water park, Mount Teide and Loro Parque which is a must! Beach is about a 15 minute walk and was lovely and clean.
Very disappointed with this place never seen a cleaner once room was never touched clean towels put in bathroom every other day bins where never emptied floors never cleaned there was some horrible insects running around the room I asked the maintenance man what they where he said fleas I said fleas he said yep like it was no bid deal I went to reception to ask if we could move rooms they said no and ignored me disgrace, the place is clearly advertised with a heated pool we went with our children and our friends children being February the water was frozen there was no heated pool Only for adults under 18s where not allowed to use it this is why we booked this place it clearly states Heated 😢 very shocked never again 😢
So im currently at the Neptuno apts with my husband.
On arrival man at reception pleasant, helpful and got us checked in within 3 minutes. Apartments/room/pools/cafeteria/grounds all spotless clean, basic but get what you paid for. The only reason i would never stay here again is because its way out from shop/bars/restaurants etc a lot of reviews say its a 10 minute walk but it definitely is not its at least 20 minutes and you still arent getting much choice for food places you need to walk at least another 20 minutes. As for walking back up its a definite no no its too much. We’re in are thirties and struggled. Theres nothing close at all and you have to walk an hour for breakfast, taxi back (5€), walk an hour to get lunch, taxi back and same for dinner so most of your day is spent walking to get food. I would never return to these apts because of this alone.
Arrived at 6.30 pm, reception open and welcoming.
Our apartment was plenty big enough for the two of us: bedroom, large bathroom and living area. Kitchen had a breakfast bar rather than a table, which was fine. No oven, but microwave, hob, fridge etc. Maid came in every other day, changed the towels each time (which wasn't really needed), and I changed our bed halfway through as there were clean sheets in the wardrobe. The maid asked if we wanted them changed again, but no need. We had a big enough sunny balcony with a partial sea view, though some balconies looked smaller and only had a view of neighbouring roofs.
Large outside bar area which also did food - ate there once which was fine. Pool by the bar was pretty cold, but there's also a smaller adult only heated one further round on a roof terrace which was nice. Plenty of sunbeds and a nice breeze!
Apartments are halfway up a fairly steep hill - 20 mins down into town and the beach, but a good half hour coming back! Taxis are everywhere though - about 5 Euros.
Supermarket directly opposite, but the Cosmos Commercial Centre is a 5 min walk. SuperDino there which is cheaper. Also a good bar there and the La 3.60 restaurant. Main meal for 3.60 Euros - excellent value, large portions, good service and house wine is drinkable and cheap too!
Neptuno is a very reasonable 3-star......despite reading some off-putting reviews before we went, we found nothing wrong. If you want more up-market, you have to pay for it!
*Warning* solo women be aware of the manager (Louie?) who verbally attacked me and banged the reception desk as there was a mix up through my Teletext booking! I thought I had booked an apartment as was online but he said it was a studio. I took the key, checked the room which was very dark and lights weren't working with no view. I explained this was not acceptable. He shouted at me in front of the actual person who was dealing with my arrival for 12 nights. He shouted "don't come back then, done come back and banged the desk twice" and as he was walking away, turned and said "and you'll stay there for the 7 nights". By this point I was in total shock and scared (I'm nearly 61 years old). The receptionist just stared at me, keeping very quiet. I asked for the manager's name but he refused to give me it!. My holiday was ruined and quite frankly I was scared to go near the reception until checking out. I have been to this hotel 4 times and have never had a problem. Im still reeling from this experience.
