Stayed here 2 nights double room with partner as visiting friends who live in Weesp. Perfectly located for walking distance to all amenities and overlooking the canal. Staff very friendly and polite. Room very clean with all basic amenities (apart from tea/coffee making facilities and no glasses). Delicious fresh buffet breakfast - everything you could want. Will definitely book again when visiting our friends.
The hotel has the perfect location, pretty close to the train station and is nestled just right in the city by the canals. Unfortunately the rooms without AC (equipped with a fan). But the rooms are clean. For me the mattress was too soft to get comfy sleep. The WIFI worked well in the room and also around and outside the reception area. The breakfast is not included in the basic tariff, plus 14€) was excellent with a wide range of cold and hot meals, different yogurts, fresh fruit and veggie and some sweat stuff.Everything was quite good but employees could smile more, they looked like grumpy all the time.
This could have been a great hotel but the staff were unfriendly & unhelpful. Room was basic but clean. No hello, thankyou or smiles. At check-in, breakfast & check-out they seemed to want to avoid any interaction with guests ! We asked for an iron which came with exposed wires. We told them and next day it was still being made available for guests - dangerous ! Our room window stared onto a brick wall. Simple things would have made this a fabulous stay alas it was the opposite. I do not recommend. We did not get good value for money.
We chose this hotel last minute and I’m so glad we did. The room was extremely comfortable, family of 4, two adults and two kids, 5 & 10. We got the triple room(pictures online are accurate) and it provided the basic amenities but with added comfort. I honestly have to say that the best part of the stay was the breakfast. You won’t be disappointed! To make it better, the train station is only a 5 minute walk and it only takes 10 minutes to get to Amsterdam Central Station, it’s right on a canal with a terrific view and there are many restaurants/bars within 1km walking. This hotel is a best kept secret.
I mention the following, only as a 'warning' to any other older or infirm people thinking of booking this hotel. In all other respects, it's a lovely hotel, in a good location:
I'd previously stayed at this hotel, a few times, before it was owned by Charme Hotels, and the main building has not changed significantly. It's the only hotel in Weesp, anyway, so has been my choice when visiting Weesp to spend some time with my cousins who live there. I'd forgotten that there is no lift and that some of the rooms are up two flights of quite steep stairs. Unfortunately, we had been allocated one of those rooms. Not ideal for people of our age, now, though even a first floor room would not have been much better, as we had fairly heavy suitcases. Weesp was not our only stop on what was a 10 day visit to the Netherlands. In future, I shall enquire about booking one of the newer, ground floor apartments (in an adjoining building), though I've not been able to find any indication of the availability or prices for these, on the hotel's website or trip adviser.
