We booked on short notice and were looked after very well by Muindadi and colleagues! The chef made us delicious vegetarian food and the private beach is very special! The room was enormous and beautiful. We meant to stay for one night, but ended up staying for 3!
Me and my girlfriend stayed three nights at the beautiful Pangani Cliffs Lodge. This place is like a paradise and the beaches are really nice. We had the room at the rooftop and the view from there were stunning. The service could not be better, and the food and drinks were very nice. The people at the lodge provided us with information about things we could do around the lodge and arranged activities. One day we went on a snorkeling trip to a sandbank, which was so much fun. This place is also really clean and fits well for couples, groups of friends and families. We can really recommend staying at Pangani Cliffs Lodge!
We stayed at Pangani Cliffs lodge for two nights. From the moment we arrived the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
The lodge is beautiful. Our room was extremely spacious and clean. The pool area is great for relaxing. There are loads of places to sit along the cliffs and take in the wonderful views. There are also steps down to the beach.
The food was great, especially the breakfast. We also really enjoyed the afternoon cake and coffee.
The lodge is quite isolated but the staff can arrange transport if you want to go off exploring. We took motor bike taxis down to Ushongo Beach (about 10km away) where there is a lovely white sandy beach and places to go for lunch or drinks.
I would definitely recommend a stay at Pangani Cliffs Lodge.
Pangani was recommended to me as an alternative to Zanzibar as it is less known to tourists but just as beautiful. I only stayed two nights but left feeling like I'd had two weeks given how relaxed I felt.
When I stepped in to Cliffs Lodge, I truly felt like I had stepped into paradise. The lodge is located a short way from the main road, but feels totally secluded. The staff are welcoming and friendly and nothing is too much trouble - you have the feeling that they are always on hand should you need them, without being intrusive to your stay.
The room I stayed in was very clean and felt very open yet still private, with shutters opening out towards the garden. The garden area is stunning, I spent a lot of time photographing the many butterflies and dragonflies while relaxing by the outdoor pool. There are many seating areas and swing seats located along the cliff edge giving a peaceful view of the ocean. There is also access to a private beach, which also gives you a chance to relax without intrusion from others.
Breakfast is included and you can be sure you won't be hungry! Everything is sourced locally and tastes great. Lunch and dinner is slightly pricey but is reflected in the quality, and if you just want to relax it's worth paying to eat at the hotel.
The staff even made a birthday cake for my partner after I let them know it was his birthday, and came out singing a traditional Swahili song to present him with it!
I highly recommend sitting on the cliff edge at night where we saw fireflies and a shooting star, and waking up early to watch the sunrise over the ocean. It's an experience I will never forget.
Overall we had a great few days here and really enjoyed it. Great location and a great place to relax. Staff are great and keen to help!
A couple of personal recommendations: the two upstairs bedrooms could really use their own bathrooms rather than a shared one downstairs.
The upstairs rooms are completely open on the sides. Makes for great views of the ocean and nice breezes. There are some shades that can be dropped down though, but there is very little privacy. Get the feeling this setup would have been better on a storey higher up? Personal view only though!
Maybe a decent fridge/freezer at the bar so the barman doesn’t have to go so far for each drink back to the main building?
For the rest we really enjoyed this place! Thank you
