The villa is clean with all the necessary amenities. 2 bedrooms each with private bathroom can comfortably accommodate 4 adults. Overlooking the ocean with a private path down the cliff to an almost private beach. Both Sunset and sunrise were amazing. You cant go wrong here.
Brenton Breakers Unit 1 is a neat and comfortable unit but parking for the unit is very difficult to get in and out with a larger vehicle. There is also a lot of thorny bushes next to the parking as well as the driveway it is over grown and difficult to drive threw without scratching your vehicle. Even though the the Units have a beautiful view on the sea we did not feel safe, a pathway leads directly in front of unit one down to the sea and houses on the other side, people where up and down all the time passing in front of our unit. My hand myself could not sit on the veranda even during the day we were to afraid. My Husband joined us over the weekend and we had to pay R1440 extra for him using the same unit and same beds. No safety around the front leading on to the cliff very dangerous for families with small children! Security cameras and alarms did not help because it felt like staying in JHB. the unit is very hot during the hot summer days with no air cons and small fans on the ground did not help at all, specially at night when you have to close the bedroom door to put the alarm on. I have actually booked my holiday at Ngwenya lodge near Kruger as soon as I arrived home because I did not relax or feel I was on holiday at Brenton Breakers. We could not walk any place had to drive by car because it is far from shops and town.
What an awesome, awesome view! The two-bedroom unit was well equipped with all the home comforts one might need. We were very disappointed that we could only stay 2 nights and not 4 as planned, but a glitch in the system threw our booking out in favour of someone else :-(. We will be back to make up for it though. The couple who manage the property are really friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place.
Absolutely stunning stay. Two bedroom spacious chalet. Modern and clean. Sea views from sittingroom and main bedroom. Ample parking, even space for our boat. Pet friendly. Best stay and great value for money.
We stayed for 2 nights in unit #1. On arrival the unit was ready for us and we were welcomed and shown around by Andre who is very friendly and helpful. The unit is beautiful and modern and very well furnished. There are 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, an open plan kitchen/lounge/diningroom, a lovely patio outside and each unit (there are 6 of them) has a covered (with shadecloth) carport outside the unit. And, of course, the cherry on top is the view which each unit has. Absolutely stunning!! And as the units are very close to the edge of the cliff, no-one can ever build in front of them. You can get down to one of the beaches via stairs from the cliff top but I wouildnt do it as they are very steep (I did try but the nerves kicked in!!).. Naturally, because of their positioning, one would have to be very careful if you went there with children. If you dont fancy travelling to get to a shop, take all your groceries etc with you as the nearest shops are in Knysna which is about 16kms away. There is a small shop next to the one restaurant but it doesnt really stock that much. There are two restaurants in Brenton on Sea (I think) but we didnt try them so I cannot comment on them. There is a swimming beach in Brenton but you would have to use your car to get there - it is not far from Brenton Breakers - perhaps 1 or 2 kms. All in all, we had a great stay and would love to visit again at some stage.
