The Tranquilitty guest house is nothing but wonderful.
Extremely cosy design with great attention to detail. Breathtaking views on the ocean from some of the rooms (the loft and the romantic room at least), fantastic and rich breakfast, only topped off by the hospitality of Desiree and their dog Rosie (even if you are not keen on animals, let me tell you that this ist the most well behaved dog you will have ever met), resulting in a warmth that usually only your own home can provide you.

As one can tell by the phrasing of my review, I loved this place and can recommend it to anyone staying in The Fish Hoek area.

From the first email we had a feeling we had found somewhere special and we certainly had. We were sent lots of information good advice and directions in a friendly honest welcoming manner.
On arrival we were not disappointed Tranquility is beautiful, positioned in a safe quiet street with excellant views. The owners could not have been more welcoming and directed us to our room which was lovely, spacious comfortable clean and had lovely views of the bay in front and mountain to the rear.It was not the room we had booked but as that needed an emergency repair our hosts felt it would be better to swop and we were very happy with the replacement and their honesty.
We were given advice as to where to eat and suggested day trips all of which worked wonderfully well.Tranquility is ideally placed there are so many places to visit all within easy distance and we felt we benefitted enormously being just on the outskirts of the city we are sure we discovered so many places we would never have known about if we had stayed centrally. Ron and Gill are fountains of knowledge and everyday greeted us warmly likewise their lovely daughter and granddaughter who even baked us some lovely brownies-yummy! Their advice was very helpful as the weather changes so quickly and local knowledge of which direction to go that day really helped
Breakfasts were outstanding, everyday there was a subtle difference and we shall remember every one! Juice, tea, coffee, fruit, cereal, cheese, jam, honey, toasts, muffins, delightful fruit bread and cooked breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage, mushrooms tomatoes in various guises-honestly we have not had such delicious breakfasts anywhere all cooked by Gill.
The attention to detail and little touches were lovely ie fresh flowers in our room and soaps in bathroom replenished daily. Our room was 'shabby chic decor' there a comfy armchair, our bed was large and comfortable with fresh crisp linen and there was plenty of storage. We had a fridge to store our drinks so we could have a sundowner on the balcony before going out to dinner. We had everything at hand we could possibly need
Our stay went far too quickly 7 nights flew by and it was wonderful to have had the opportunity to stay in Tranquility it beats luxury hotels by a mile we cant wait to return!
Thank you so much for making our introduction to Cape Town so memorable we will cherish our time in SA and at Tranquility

Stayed here for 2 nights and wasn't disappointed. Met with fresh cheese scones and taken to a fabulous room with a tremendous view of the bay. The breakfast was a masterpiece that set you up for the whole day. Superb.

I can only echo the views of others about this excellent guesthouse. Ron, Gill (and Rosie the Border Collie) really do make you welcome from the moment you arrive. The rooms are wonderful - airy, spacious and with great views. We were upgraded to a room with a sea view when we arrived and I would recommend one of these as the views are stupendous.

And as for breakfasts, this was the best of all the places we stayed in the month we were in SA. There was a different theme each day and we even had a chance to sample some traditional Khoisan fare. There is a very comfortable lounge which you are welcome to use and a small but perfectly formed garden area with seating out back - with direct access to the hillside where tortoises and porcupines roam.

I cannot recommend Tranquility Guesthouse more highly. Try it for yourself!

During my last business trip to south africa Í stayed the Weekend in Fish Hoek. I never had such an amizing guest house. The view from the mountain to the coast and the ocean was beautiful. The room were lovely decorated and 100% clean. I never had such a great hospitality. It was like staying at my own family. Finally the breakfast delicious with a huge variety of food. I travel a lot worldwide and must go into expensive hotels to find something similar. Many thank's for everything.
