We stayed here for 4 nights. The room was good with nice bed, furniture and bedding. The breakfast was close to nonexistent. Staff were very helpful. The bathroom was a weak point and needs attention. There was some train noise but was otherwise quiet. The area around the hotel is ok but lacks much in the way to of restaurants. You can walk to the center and bus service is excellent
Walking distance to the center only when you don't mind walking far, in an area full of homeless people. One evening we (two athletic men) were almost robbed close to the motel (a guy ran after us but we outran him). Reaction of reception staff was rather stoic. Very nice room. Poorest breakfast you can imagine and they don't even have a room where you can eat it and in the (bed)rooms are no tables and only one chair.
We had a great stay here in one of the most comfortable beds ever! It’s a short stroll to the riverwalk and the area is not as bad as previous posts made out. Check in was quick, easy and very friendly. My only gripe is that the shower pressure wasn’t great but it’s still a decent shower! Parking was easy and the room was a good size and clean with a very comfortable king sized bed! Would stay again when visiting San Antonio
We arrived the Friday morning before the start of the Final Four, so we weren't expecting to be able to get into our room right away. The gentleman who was working behind the desk was nice enough to let us go to our room anyway even though it wasn't cleaned up just so we could change and head to the Riverwalk. Sometimes the small things like that make it nice since we didn't have to try and change inside of a Camaro. The Riverwalk was only a ten minute walk from the Hotel and even though I've read reviews about it being in a "bad neighborhood", that couldn't be further from the truth. It was a very easy walk and we weren't bothered by anyone the dozen or so times we made the trek.
The room we stayed in was 110 and was very neat and clean when we returned. Looking out the back window you are looking into a neighborhood, but that didn't really matter to us. If we wanted a view we would have stayed downtown. There was painting on the wall of an overweight Latino family which was actually quite amusing after a dozen Coronas.
At the end of the hallway is a vending machine for your late night snacks and water. They don't have any room service but they have a deal with a local pizzeria that will deliver directly to the room, which we did take advantage of once and was pretty good. The full menu is on the stand next to the television. We kept it simple but they did have more to offer than just pizza.
The parking was directly outside of the hotel and even though it is a small lot, we didn't have any issue with parking the entire time we were down there.
For what we were looking for, this place was perfect. Everyone treated us very nice and the rooms were clean. You are within walking distance of just about everything you would want to see or do in San Antonio. You can't really ask for more than that when you're just in town for a sporting event. We would definitely stay here again if we are in town again.
Great, clean updated rooms and overall, the hotel was clean and well kept. The price was fair. But they had a very poor excuse for breakfast which included only coffee, cereal, milk and bread with a toaster. No tables or place to sit.
But I left my jacket in the closet of the room - it was my favorite hoodie. I called them a few hours later to let them know about this and was told to call the next day. Okay. So I called the next day and was told that my jacket was never found. Really? Even though I TOLD you exactly where it could be found? Enjoy my cool hoodie, you jerks!
