The room was clean and modern, with a very decent sized bed, TV has good selection of tv channels, the fridge allowed us to be able to chill drinks and there was plenety of storage room for luggage. We didn't stay in a street view room however we appreciated being away from the street noise. The halls and reception area were immaculate and the rooftop view is breathtaking. All staff were pleasant and helpful and no issues with the maid service. The restaurant next door is worth a visit to! The locality of the hotel is perfect for navigating around the city, will absolutely be staying again - thank you for a memorable first visit to NYC!

Stayed here for 7 days in February just before the Covid lockdown. Check in very fast and efficient although we found the staff here weren't as welcoming as other hotels we've stayed at in NYC, entrance to hotel extremely clean and modern. Our room was on the 7th floor, it was huge probably the biggest hotel room we've had in any hotel we've stayed in to date which was great. We had 2 bedrooms - 2 double beds in one room and another double bed in a separate bedroom. Views of the empire state from the window were amazing - especially on Valentines day where it lit up red with a 'heartbeat'.
Small box of chocolates in room on arrival as it was mine and my sons birthdays whilst here which was lovely. Rooftop bar was not open due to time of year however could still go up there to see the views of the ESB which was amazing!
Literally a few steps from the subway, Herald Sq./Macy's/MSG etc which was fab for sightseeing and shopping. Given a voucher for a free breakfast at Black Tap on arrival at check in, however i don't recommend breakfast there as it was terrible! Very little options (croissant, baked beans and pain au chocolat) Would not have paid for that breakfast! The milkshakes there however, were amazing and definitely worth every cent!
Rooms were warm and air con also worked well, however it was -8 when we were there so the air con didn't get used a great deal.
Advisory i'd give of the hotel was that the windows were old and thin and so it sounded like they were completely open when they were not as the street noise was so loud. I spent the first few days trying to figure out ways to block the noise out at night, but i was woken at least 4 times per night the entire trip. The best bet is to put the heater/air con on to drown the noise out a little of the rubbish carts and vehicles.

Overall I would possibly stay here again, but only if guaranteed a room on the highest floor away from the road.

We booked to go to NYC in December through virgin and was pleasantly suprised to see that the hotel had been renovated and renamed before our visit. We chose this hotel because of the location and the positive reviews

We was not disappointed. Check in was a breeze and easy, we was allocated one of the lux rooms which was a nice touch. The room itself was a good size and there was built in storage for shopping and cases. The bathroom was also a good size and the shower was brilliant. The mini fridge and coffee machine were really nice touches too. The bed was super comfy. I always worry about hotel safes but these ones are brand new and seemed very secure.

The location of this hotel is beyond amazing. Macy’s is a a couple mins walk away and there is a subway station night next to the hotel. Plenty of good restaurants and tourist attractions within walking distance. Andrews was the best place for breakfast as recommended by the Kixby staff. Also try the coffee cart outside the hotel, best coffee and doughnuts!

This trip was especially special as i was planning to propose to my girlfriend, I decided somewhere private would be best on the hotels rooftop bar. The staff put my mind at ease and helped me plan this so we could have that special moment

The staff really make this place. The reception staff are helpful. Would like to give special thanks to Christian, Kelvin and Leo for their recommendations. Would definitely rebook this hotel again, and this hotel will always have a special place in our hearts. Sorry we didn’t post the review sooner, hope you guys are all well.

I stayed at the "Kixby" in early January this year and it was a fantastic experience. As this was my partners & I first time to New York City, we wanted to make sure we found the right hotel and we certainly did!

As soon as we walked through the door we were warmly welcomed on what was a cold night! I had previously emailed asking that if possible we could have a higher room floor and we were certainly given one.

Our bedroom was good. It wasn't one of the new refurbed ones but it had all that we needed. The shower room was lovely, bed comfy, condiments provided and the best part of the room was the view it gave us of the Empire State Building! We couldn't really ask for more.

On arrival we were given a voucher/token to have a breakfast with the neighbouring restaurant to which the name has escaped my mind! Again the breakfast was perfectly fine. There was fresh fruit, cereal, croissants and more. You really don't need much as im sure youll be eating throughout the day!

The rooftop bar wasn't open but you can still go up there and enjoy the fine views. When I say "fine" views I mean incredible views. You are so close to the Empire State Building you could almost touch it. Macy's is also right next to you which im sure youll go and check out!

Location wise I also couldn't fault it! Far enough from Times Square that you weren't on top of it but close enough that the walk is incredibly short.

Please take this review from someone who will read every review about a hotel before booking it. I really can't recommend the "Kixby" enough to anyone!

Stayed here for a week in early March, just before NY shut down. Staff were fantastic, room lovely and room service delicious - especially the Impossible Burger. Huge thanks to the team at the Kixby for taking such good care of me at a very strange time

We had a Premier Queen that had been refurbished. Don't expect too much, this is a New York hotel. As far as I know you cannot get breakfast. We used to leave early and go to a nearby McDonalds, not the best choice but it was clean and you know what you are getting. Yes, they do store luggage.

Don't know about Metro- a brilliant hotel in the best possible location- but the hotel next door has what they claim to be one of the highest rooftop bars in NY and you will get a superb view of the Empire State Building from both roofs. See my initial review. Don't be conned into paying $60 just to go up the elevator in the Empire State Building. There is no guide, exhibition or audio . You get just as good a view from the Metro roof. Blow $60 on booze in the rooftop bar instead. All food in the centre is expensive. Go to Pam's Thai restaurant in Hell's Kitchen and get a brilliant sit down meal for the price of a sandwich in the street. It's within walking distance of the Metro. We went there 3 times in 5 nights, once upon getting off the evening Brooklyn open top bus tour. It was the guide- a Brooklyn taxi driver by day - who put us onto this fantastic restaurant.

If you are terrified of lifts then New York ain't really the place for you! I am sure if you message the hotel they will accommodate you.
