We recently returned from staying in La Siesta during the shut down even though it was a stressful time for guests and staff they where not at all helpful changed the evening meal time and never told guests some people went down at 8 pm and evening meal was over !! We where in a room that faced onto a car park and when we where told to stay in our rooms we went to reception to ask to be moved into a room with a better view (the hotel was practically empty at this point) and they charged us €96 !! I understand staff will probably loose their jobs for a while but we where stuck in a foreign country and unsure of what was happening with no help from hotel, not impressed.

On the whole we had a nice week at this hotel, we were lucky with the weather.
We thought the hotel was kept clean, and our room was always cleaned very well.
Pool areas are good, plenty of sun beds but even so you still get people leaving their towels on beds right in front of the pool and disappearing for the day only coming back late afternoon to collect their towels !so annoying.
Entertainment wasn’t that good, I don’t know how many times we have watched the parrot and snake show, really need different entertainment.
Granddaughter loved the mini disco , Camilla was very good with the children.
Worst part for us was the food, didn’t enjoy it at all, first time I have come home form a holiday lighter than I went.
Didn’t think the male restaurant staff were very friendly.
Pool bar prices are expensive ..2.50 for a small bottle of water, when it’s 45 cents in the shops?
The toilets were down some steep stairs by the resturant so when you were in reception or entertainment room you had to use the stairs, and when you have a small child with you needing the toilet it was a problem , yes there is a small lift but was always being used for wheelchair users and elderly , a toilet is badly needed upstairs.
But as I said at the beginning of my review we did have a lovely family holiday and had many happy times.

Stayed here before. It hasn't improved from 3 years ago. Food wasn't bad but certainly not the best for variety. The usual delay in getting a sunbed after breakfast, they block it off and dont start putting seats out till at least 9.30am. We had storm Gloria whilst there on the Sunday which covered EVERYWHERE with dust. We had to wipe our sunbeds down ourselves and it wasn't until the Friday that the staff actually washed some of the seats down. At check in, nothing was said to us about the sun terrace or the spa as to accesssing it. Not the friendliest of staff either. The room we had was OK N0 158, though very dull, no direct sunlight and couldn't open the curtains as there was a hallway that looked right into us. This was at the rear and the bin collectors at 3am wasn't appreciated. Bath and shower was great though.

Hola C8093CSpaulg, Thank you very much for sharing your review on Trip Advisor. Take into consideration, that during your stay the Canary Islands received the heavier sand storm in the last 30 years, it was an unexpected situation that take more than 1 week, and our staff worked really hard day by day to maintain the hotel cleanliness. If you had sent us a request before your arrival or informed our reception staff about your preferences during your stay, you can be sure we have found a room that fits better with your needs and preferences. Unfortunately, we have not received this information from you. Our Restaurant “El Drago” offers a great variety of international food buffet style with show cooking area, where the guests can approach our chef, who is at their service, and tell him or her how they want their food to be cooked, all of them with a great assortment of salads and desserts. Also we offer thematic dinners like Asian, American, Mediterranean, typical Canarian, Italian, French, Mexican and Spanish. And even exist the possibility to have dinner in our terrace every Thursday enjoying the best meats in our Barbeque night. So we consider, that we offer a great variety of food. Don´t hesitate to contact us to explain us a little bit more about your food variety review. According to our strategic plan to increase the quality of our offer, Hotel La Siesta is constantly thinking how to improve the hotel facilities & services. In the last 3 years, different areas of the hotel have been renovated, like rooms, swimming pool & spa area, lobby, roof top solarium, paddle-tennis courts and restaurant. We would welcome another opportunity to see you back on future travels should you be returning to Tenerife. Please feel free to contact us directly on info@lasiesta-hotel.com, so that we may ensure your complete satisfaction. Kind Regards from Tenerife, Ana C. General Manager Hotel La Siesta

we stayed here in January for a week, we have had family stay here previous so was definitely our first choice. hotel has a great location close to the beach, and both resorts los christianos or americas. Food was varied and we sometimes struggled for children's options other than nuggets, chips, it seemed. Breakfast tine was the best with the children but very busy, saying that though we always managed to find a table, but we decided most morning to eat out to avoid the rush and the queues. The hotel is clean the rooms were very clean and comfortable. our only negative is that our balcony door was quite difficult to lock so we found that on our return to the room every day after the cleaner had been in she had not locked the balcony doors. Despite numerous complaints to the reception it was still always left open. we would not have minded if we'd not been on the first floor and had valuables in our safe. Other than that we cant fault out stay, our boys loved it

Will there be a kettle in a basic double room?
Answer from Bakes53
Mar 2020 |
We upgraded there was a coffee machine in the room but we found it fiddly to use. Aw we stayed there last year we took a travel kettle & a couple of mugs so we could have decent cuppa in the morning.

We upgraded as you have free use of the pool & WiFi in your room. There is a good variety of food we always found something we liked. Never made breakfast but there’s a restaurant across the road that does a full English with a cuppa for €2.95. Drinks are more or less the same as the bars depending what you drink. When you get a drink it’s put on your room number so no money changes hands. We paid the bill everyday to save a huge bill at the end of the week. No sea view only pool view. Standard rooms look out onto the road or car park. We’ve stayed on the first & second floor but next time we’re going to ask for 3rd or 4th floor because you’ll get the sun in the afternoon & evening. Hope that helps
