I had two stays at the Residence Inn Dallas Central Expressway last month. My first stay was ok, but the shower curtain had mold all over it. Since we are living in the time of COVID and I had already sanitized the room myself, I didn't want anyone entering the room. So, I waited until after my stay to let the front desk know. I understand these things happen, but I would hope they would do a better job of checking.
My second stay was a week later and uneventful.
I've stayed in many Residence Inn's over the years and one thing to note about this one is that it is outdoor entry. Traveling as a single female, I try to stay away from outdoor entry hotels. However, I felt ok overall regarding my safety. Also, the walkways to the rooms are painted concrete, so the days it rained, I had to be extremely careful as the walkways were slick.
All in all, it's not a bad hotel. Nothing horrible, but nothing spectacular either. It was located a mile from where I was working for the two weeks and was convenient.
The hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly. A special thanks to Assistant Manager Maurice. I reserved a room at this hotel because of its proximity to my wife's appointment, previous customer ratings, and it had an outdoor pool. My wife was really looking forward to the warm weather and outdoor pool. I contacted the hotel to discover the pool was being closed that day, our check in day. I merely asked Maurice if my wife could use a pool at a nearby property. He asked for my number and to give him a little time to see what he could do. Maurice called me back to inform me that he delayed the closing of the pool, so my wife could use it. It is employees like Maurice, that has made Marriott my primary hotel choice for many years. He is very polite, professional, and went above and beyond for a customer he did not know.
Room was good. Had a suite. Very clean! Some road noise, but then a great location across from a center with CVS & Tom Thumb, etc.
Dealt a lot with Adrian Lopez - he was super helpful. Maurice Kimble, assistant general Manager, was also very helpful and pleasant! There were several other front desk people, but don't have their names. The maintenance team was at my door instantaneously when I called for something to check.
I had a 2 night stay at this Residence Inn by Marriott Dallas Central Expressway. The room was very nice, updated furnishings, clean. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast had a good variety to choose from. I liked the fresh fruit, not just apples and oranges, but nice cut pineapple and melon. But as the name indicates, it is right by the expressway and I heard the noise all night. If I stay again I’d ask for a room away from that side of the hotel. I did have a billing problem at check in but management was very professional and prompt in correcting. All employees were very friendly. I would go back here to stay .
I had a great time and meal in the evening. Ruthie did a great job and was especially friendly to all patrons. Enjoyed my stay. Clean room and friendly staff. Loved the apartment like feel. Great job!
