I had to check my receipt to make sure I was writing this review on the correct property. There is NO WAY these other reviews are accurate unless I was placed on the DUMP side! I go to the door around 5 PM to check in (apparently you need a key card to enter) I stood there for at least a minute while the 3 front desk employees just stared. Upon entering the lobby the same 3 people put there heads down and I waited at least another 2 minutes before anyone acknowledged me. Finally check in. Key card worked for the gate but I get to my room in building 7 (A good distance from the front desk) and the door doesn't open. I drive back to the front desk, they still me to push the harder but gave me another key just in case. Get back, 2nd key card doesn't work. At this point i'm annoyed. Manager came to unlock the door and brought us new keys. We only had a few minutes in the room as we had to head to an event. When I got back for the evening there was a LOUD smell of Marijuana in the walk way. Get to my room the smell was coming from the vents. The rooms are AWFUL! Carpet ripped, sofa bed was nailed together, furniture dirty, shower pressure super low. I wouldn't even think this is Motel 6's standard.
Stayed for two nights and made this Residence Inn 3 miles from DAL (Love Field) our home base. Had a two BR unit with a great rate via Marriott Site. The property is easy to find and running at limited capacity due to COVID. Gave this property four stars because of the staff, but otherwise would have just been average.
This is an older Marriott with 10 or so buildings spread out around the property. One side of the property faces directly at the Stemmons Freeway, but luckily we were placed on the opposite side. We could hear free way noise on our side, so guessing its much louder on the other.
They have secure parking (7 dollars a day). The charge for parking was disappointing as not my typical experience for outlying Residence Inn's.
Room was serviceable. It was clean on arrival, with the typical offerings. Furniture and bedding appear to be a few years old. Beds were comfortable, but total room size for 2BR unit was small. Two bathrooms, but the second BR, has small standing only shower that is difficult to navigate for any adult. Would be fine for kids.
Kitchen is in need of resupplying. Only two pint size glasses, no spoons, with limited cook ware. The Ice machine in our unit (1032) was not working. I purchased ICE in a bag, from grocery store so wasn't a problem. The Dishwasher is in need of replacing as top shelf didn't have many areas that were not already broken.
We were at this property when Dallas was experiencing a heat advisory (over 100) and the AC struggled during the peak of the heat to keep up. I guess that is expected. Despite closing blinds and setting AC for 68, it hovered around 75 during the day. Cooled off nicely in the evening in the room.
They are not serving the typical breakfast during COVID, but you can get a grab and go breakfast bag that includes a Jimmy Dean Breakfast sandwich, yogurt, granola bar and bottle of water. We just went back to room to heat up sandwich.
I encountered two staff members during our stay, both at front desk. I missed the name of nice lady who checked us in. She was efficient and professional. The other gentleman we met was Marcus. He was awesome. Friendly, helpful and seemed to enjoy doing his job. Both wore masks and the front desk is set up with plexiglass to help prevent the spread of COVID.
I have stayed at better Residence Inn's and this one met our needs. It's tired, but the two staff members, and the nice touch with the to Go breakfast helped me give four stars. Otherwise, really not much better than just average. If I found a similar low rate, I would consider staying here again, but my guess is the low rates around most of the country will creep back up as time moves on.
Stayed here with a family of 4 adults for a weekend.
Location: Right along Stemmons Highway, easily accessible, and easy to reach downtown. Highway noise is there but I didn't really mind.
Check-in: Quick & easy.
Parking: USD$7 nightly. If you arrive with a car you initially park in a small lot near the lobby to check in, then use your room key to access gate-operated parking for hotel guests. This is nice because you can park near your actual room since the complex sprawls somewhat.
Room: The rooms here are accessible through the outside, there aren't indoor corridors. However it never felt like a "motel" since the corridors are all inside and away from the parking lot, it felt more like an apartment complex. We booked a 2 bed 2 bath suite which suited our 4-adult party perfectly. The kitchenette was adequate. Closet space was plentiful. There are multiple TV's in the suite. One thing I wish for is stronger shower water pressure. In addition the smaller bathroom in the 2-bath suite has a really tiny shower stall so I would imagine larger guests having trouble showering in there, but the larger bathroom provides a nice roomy tub.
Amenities: There is an outdoor pool which I would imagine would be very nice in summer. Free breakfast was decent, there is eggs, toast, fruit, oatmeal, waffle maker. Hot coffee and tea are available 24/7. Seating area seemed adequate although I opted to bring a tray back to my room which was very easy. Small gym near lobby, which we didn't use.
Shout out to Michelle in the front, who was very friendly with us and gave wonderful travel recommendations.
We went to this place for a family trip with friends. We were two families so rented a two-bedroom suite. I have stayed at Residence Inn several times before so I didn’t think twice when I booked this place. But when we entered the room, I was taken aback. It was so outdated, certainly didn’t meet the Marriott standards - not even close. Also, the glass sliding doors to one of the rooms were only covered by sheer curtains, which didn’t provide any privacy. We tried to cook, but there were only two tiny pots. It was impossible for us to cook for dinner that night. After trying to get the room switched and make things work, I finally asked for a refund. It was a Sunday evening so none of the hotel managers were around. However, the front desk staff (Skye) listened to me with genuine care, and tried SO hard to help me even though a refund (or getting another room for privacy) was beyond her authority. She finally got a hold of one of the managers, who gave her a go to overwrite the system to give me a refund. She spent a lot of time to help me and I felt so valued by her genuine care. I truly appreciate her and the manager who understood our situation and helped us to move to a different place. We ended up booking a different Residence Inn, 20 minutes away from this place. The place was disappointing, but the staff was not. I was deeply impressed by the hospitality that Skye demonstrated to me. I chose to give four stars for that.
I was here last week as the last half of a nice 10 days in Dallas. I'll admit, I picked this property because of the rate and the current Marriott Bonvoy points promo. I was hesitant this year about the "new Marriott" and the huge hotel company it is now, but I am giving the new Marriott more of my overnight business going forward. There was an act of God weather system which came in one afternoon. It caused temporary and severe street flooding which in turn caused water delivery disruption to the hotel. The management team stepped up and took care of everything and made me more than happy! The hospitality here is top notch and I've stayed at the Homewood Suites across the freeway and the RI is cheaper and a far better lodging product. Recommended!
