The staff are amazing. A lot of little touches that make the trip like themed shots on arrival from the game drive (springbok shots on the night of springboks v Ireland and milk tart for heritage day)

It was my boyfriends birthday and we were welcomed back after the game drive with a bottle of Bosschendal cap classic and a beautifully decorated bed!

The food was lovely, a smoothie or fruit to start for breakfast then a hot breakfast. Homemade rusks in the room for morning tea or coffee.Lunches were salads, wraps and the like with a desert. Dinners were three courses and lovely! All the guests eat together at one table and get to know each other.

The rooms are big and private with a very large balcony. Beds are very comfortable. Bathrooms had bath, indoor shower and outdoor shower. Very spacious.

A massage with Anne is an absolute must! You have the incredibly relaxing massage over looking the bush on an outside smaller deck.

Kyra is so welcoming and has a very sunny demeanor.

The pool area is great and spacious.

Had a great time, thank you very much Kyra and team for the great little getaway.

We stayed at the Nungubane Game Lodge for 6 nights. We have been on safari before in Kenya, Tanzania and Kruger Park in South Africa. This was definitely the best. The great advantages were that it is only a 3 hour drive north from Jo'burg in the Welgevonden Game Reserve and there are no mosquitos so no need for malaria medicine. But more than that, the Lodge is amazing, with a superb staff and excellent food. They collect you at the airport and transport you to the Lodge so it is a foolproof trip. There are only 5 chalets, each beautifully decorated with a lovely balcony and marvelous bathrooms, with both indoor and outdoor showers. The safari experience was terrific ~ lots of great game on every game drive and the ability to see all the animals close up. A morning game drive included a stop for coffee, followed by a sumptuous breakfast back at the Lodge. After several hours to swim in the pool or read on the terrace we again went into the bush, stopping for sundowners and arriving back at camp in time for dinner. The menu choices were plentiful and we could ask for anything we wanted. The game drives were made even better by fabulous guides who knew everything about flora and fauna and gave us the opportunity to see the animals in an uncrowded atmosphere without a lot of vehicles....Nungubane is after all on a private game preserve and that makes for a more personal experience which is what sets it apart from all the other big resorts. All in all it was the best travel experience we've ever had.

We had a fantastic time at Nungubane. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent! And very tasty. We were very fortunate and got to see the Big 5! The highlights being the lion, leopard and elephant sightings! The lodge and chalets are top class and very comfortable. Each chalet has its own deck looking out into the bush. We liked the fire places! The lodge has a swimming pool for summer relaxation. Nungubane is great value for money. Welgevonden is a hidden gem that must be explored!

Too many highlights to list all of them but truly a magical place with fantastic staff to make you feel in pure bliss including fantastic rooms and main lodge (and the best pool as we had great weather) as well as gourmet dining every meal! The staff are wonderful and the games drives were out of this world led by Jonathan with his knowledge and experience we covered some good ground with unbelievable sightings. Did i mention the food?! Nothing better than a morning coffee on a game drive with some homemade banana bread :) Thanks team Nungubane and guests.. an experience never to be forgotten.

A safari experience has always been something I've dreamed of doing, and safe to say that Nungubane exceeded all of my expectations and more. My fiancé and I had an absolutely incredible week away in the bush and for that we have Nungubane Game Lodge to thank.

The staff are so friendly and attentive, by the end of our stay they felt like family. Miriam and Lizzie's cooking was second to none, with various options each day to choose from. Not to mention the quality, presentation and attention to detail is of a particularly high standard.

The facilities are exceptional! Our room was cleaned each day, beds made in the morning and turned down in the evening which was a lovely touch after coming back from the game drives. The pool added the perfect opportunity to cool down throughout the day as we spent time relaxing on the sun loungers. The main deck and lookout points around the lodge were perfect for catching a glimpse of elephants, zebras and giraffes as they moved through the bush or drank from the watering hole.

Throughout our stay we were taken care of by the manager Chris, and two wonderful rangers, Keegan and Anoushka. Thank you so much for making our game drives unforgettable and unique. Keegan and Anoushka have incredible knowledge of the bush and every day felt like a new adventure. We were able to see some fantastic sightings and encounters with wildlife that will stay with us forever and be talked about with friends and family for years to come.

I would confidently recommend Nungubane to anyone and everyone. The value for money is exceptional and we will definitely be back again hopefully very soon.

Thank you again to the team at Nungubane for a wonderful stay!
