We spent two nights in what I have to say was a fantastic room. We really felt spoilt by the staff. They made us feel so welcome and catered for every need. An outdoor shower just cannot be beaten! The room is luxurious and comfortable with its own patio. Beds are turned down at night and sleeping in the absolute peace and quiet is pure bliss.

2 game drives per day do not leave for much relaxation time inbetween but they are well worth it as in the 4 game drives we had we saw 4 of the Big 5 (sadly no leopard) as well as a Cheetah. Rhino are plentiful and there are 2 Lion prides to search for. We were lucky enough to see both.

The stay at Nungubane was great.
Accomodation : The Room #1 was great. The room is very spatious. A very big bed, a nice bathroom and Airco in the room.
Food : The food was good. The seating is special, since you sit at one table with all the other guests. (This was new for us and a bit awkward in the beginning)
We are not the fan of barbecue (or braai), so the first dinner was a bit of a down for us. The other dinner compensated greatly for that and we were fulfilled with what they had to offer..
The breakfast and lunch were abundant and very tasty.
Game Drive : The guides are THE BEST !!!! Bertus has a wealth of knowledge. In all our game drives over the years, he was the one that still taught me some new things. Anouchka is (for her newbie position ;) ) also very dedicated and knowledgeable. She went really out of her way to find the animals to show to us.
Staff : The kitchen personnel really did a great job in making every single time something delicious.
Chris (the head of the lodge) is a very entertaining person who pleases his guests with stories and drinks (to early morning)
All together : If we go back to SA, I would surely consider going back to this lodge.

Quaint private cottages with their own outdoor deck and outdoor shower with unparalleled privacy. The bedroom has a fireplace and wonderful character. Jacques led our game drives early morning for sunrise and every afternoon through sunset and into the evening. The landscape and wildlife are spectacular.

The food was excellent. No bugs or malaria concerns. Bring binoculars and a good camera!

We had a very good time at Nungubane. Apart from the initial hic-up with our pick-up at the gate, the rest of the weekend was great! The lodge is very beautiful, the room nice, clean and spacious and I just loved the bathroom (also appreciated the special touch off decorating the bath with candles, etc. our last night)! The staff were very friendly and professional and the service very good.

We enjoyed our game drives with Sam. As it rained a lot, the area was beautifully green and scenic and we saw a lot of animals, including a lion. The food was very good, but as my husband and I went away for a romantic get-away, we were not that happy with the one big communal table for all the guests. If you plan on going as one big group, it will be perfect.

We stayed at Nungumbane Lodge for 3 nights and had a wonderful time there. Food was great and we especially enjoyed our gamedrives with Josphat and his stories and facts about the animals we saw. It was amazing to see a cheetah being chased by baboons and we were glad Josphat turned out to be an elephant whisperer when two young male elephants expressed too much intrest in the car we were in. I still vividly remember Josphat instructing the elephant "No boy! no!" and yes...the elephant listened. Staff was very friendly and catered to the pregnancy dietry requests. Oh yes and an excellent place to do a wedding proposal. Thanks to the staff who set up the evening meal on our private deck and decorated our bedroom and bathroom in a manner well suited to the romantic occassion. Thank you my friends!
