My husband and myself spend 3 fabulous days at Lelapa lodge. From the moment that we arrived to the moment we left, the service was out of this world. The staff was very friendly and could not do enough for you.
The food was exceptional. Fresh and beautifully prepared. Alot of variety.
The rooms were out of this world. Each room had a splash pool, sun loungers and an outdoor shower on the balcony. The rooms were huge with a separate seating area and bath overlooking the wild. The attention to detail in the rooms, were just mind blowing. Everything a person needed was in the room.
The 2x drives each day was a big treat with Lisa, out guide.
This lodge will see us again.

The Kopano team made every effort to ensure the stay was ultra luxurious. Conny, Tumi, Mitch, Johannes, Daniel and Gladness - thank you. We will be back. From the delicious baked goods and coffee in the morning before the game drive to the iced coffee and treats in the afternoon, the food was simply OUTSTANDING! No request was very ever too much. We chose to have lunch in our room each day to maximize the gorgeous deck and downtime. The game drives were unreal and we really appreciated the few(if any) other game vehicles that shared viewing moments with us. The reason for the trip was a 40th birthday occasion - the team presented us with a beautifully decorated chocolate cake and celebrated and sang with us. The settings (and table placements) for each of the meals was something we looked forward to - sitting in and amongst the trees with the view of the bush, the beautiful bird life and watering hole - what more could one ask for? We also booked a massage which was amazing and even did a bit of exercise with the gym kit in the room. We left feeling rejuvenated and relaxed, we cannot wait to go back.

My lovely wife and I spent 4 nights at Madikwe Safari Lodge, very well situated in the upper Eastern section of Madikwe on the side on a hill with great views over the grasslands.

The lodge staff were very friendly and helpful, and always on hand to see to your every need.

The common areas of the lodge are wonderful. There are many areas where you can dine and the variety was great. All food was plated from a reasonable size menu - now available as a QR coded website which allowed us to peruse the menu well before mealtimes. The servings are generous and we could not do three meals every day, so alternated between skipping either breakfast or lunch. Hard to do given how good the food was!

The suites are very spacious with a large central fireplace. Each suite has a deck overlooking the plains with a plunge pool and outside shower. There is both a fan and an air-conditioner. The beds are super comfortable and we slept really well.

There is a reasonable sized communal pool which was well used. An added advantage is that the lodge's waterhole is best viewed from the pool area! There was a near constant stream of animals passing by and using the waterhole. We even skipped an afternoon drive and sat photographing the wildlife from there - naturally with a bottle of champagne on hand.

Our guide for our stay was Mitchell, who was super professional and very knowledgeable. We really enjoyed our drives.

We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend this lodge.

We saved the safari portion for the end of our two week honeymoon trip to South Africa and boy are we glad we chose to do that. Anything after the Kopano Lodge at Madikwe would've been a let down. The Service was fantastic. Special shout out to Connie the guest relations manager and our guide Will, who was so passionate about his job. The lodge itself is amazing. Spacious suite with nice amenities. Food was great as well. Not one single complaint. Highly recommend Kopano, especially if you are traveling as a couple and prefer to be far away from children.

If you are looking for a family friendly Safari Lodge or even a Safari Lodge in general, go to Madikwe Safari Lodge (Lelapa). They have the best team in any Lodge we ever experienced. The Rangers are such nice people an their knowledge about nature and it's animals is outstanding. The main Lodge is very beautiful. Same thing about the Rooms, they are very nice and the terrace for each room is perfect for relaxing. The Lodge has a large pool that is about 15 meters away from a big water hole where animals will come by regularly. Food is good as well and kindly presented by the lovely staff.

Sorry for this late reply, I think a family lodge would be fine, you just need to ask management for an additional child's bed.

Lelapa lodge is the main one where we stayed, and you can walk to the other one. I did not go but people who were with us transferred to lelapa as the other one was too quiet. Lelapa has the elephants in the watering hole right next to the swimming pool . This was the most amazing thing ! Sitting enjoying good food and drinking a glass of wine at lunch time then 30 plus elephants walk past and splash about in the water . Blew me away. It happened each day and I would not have wanted to miss it. Good food and beautiful suites. Go there you will not be disappointed !
