We have stayed at the Karoo Lodge several times over the years, usually for 4 to 5 nights,,unfortunately this last time which was last week,I had to cut the stay short...oh...what a disappointment!!!
Such a lovely place, always a wonderful welcome...their scrambled eggs are to die for and George is a very proficient cook.
Rooms are very roomy with comfortable chairs or sofa if you should wish to relax indoors, either reading, watching tv etc....plus...there is airconditioning and ceiling fans..
The pool is very attractive as it blends in the garden setting ...no turquoise glaring tiles!
The town is so pretty and has lots of interest for one and all.
If you should be in the Karoo, please stay here, you will not regret it
Nothing is too much for Elsabe and George and they are willing you help you with any problem you may have.
Thank you both for a super stay...hope to see you again in a couple of years.

Arriving in Prince Albert via the scenic Marienpoort pass as the sun was setting we were enchanted by the contrast with the wine towns of Stellenbosch and Franschoek that we had just left. Many of the lovely buildings seem to date back to Victorian times and the town is very tranquil. Our stay was only one night but we enjoyed the warm hospitality of the hosts including George's wonderful cooking (we had delicious ostrich steaks). Breakfast was again beautifully served.
We noted the beautiful garden and pool and resolved to come back for a longer stay.
Our route out of Prince Albert took us over the very spectacular Swartberg Pass.
We recommend this guesthouse for a good feel of South African hospitality.

Excellent. Spacious clean rooms, a great pool and staff that went out of their way to ensure you enjoyed your stay. The bed was also fantastic...extra large with crisp sheets and it felt brand new. Best bacon for years. Loved it

Excellent breakfasts and hospitality by this family-run establishment, spacious comfortable rooms, lovely garden and pool and most importantly aircon. Highly recommended and great value for money. Will be back!

This was not our first trip to Prince Albert but spending 3 nights in the town this time was our longest. Our accommodation at the Karoo Lodge was ideally located and set back in a private plot with quiet garden and pool on the hight street. The shops, restaurants and Saturday farmer's market were within easy walking distance. Our spacious rooms with large beds, bathrooms and fridges were ideal for our activies. Breakfast and evening meals were a delight and our hosts, George, Elsie and daughter, made us feel very welcome. We will definitely stay at the Karoo Lodge again on our next visit to Prince Albert.
