We had a great night in this room. It was rainy on and off, so we didn’t get to spend any time on the balcony, but we had a great view down the lake. The room was pleasant, quiet, and (most importantly) clean. It was strange to have to check in down the street, but it turned out fine. We would do it again.
We just returned from a weekend trip to Mill Falls in Meredith, NH. We have traveled there at least once if not twice a year for the past 14 years. We have always enjoyed the friendly, hospitable staff, the clean and accommodating rooms, and the well manicured grounds. We chose to stay at Bay Point due to their being limited availability. We chose the Bay Point Deluxe Lakeview Queen/Sofa Sleeper Balcony. The room is advertised on their website as I write this email as having "a queen bed, sofa sleeper, a balcony overlooking Lake Winnipesaukee, and a two-person whirlpool tub in the bathroom". When we checked into our room (room 236), we found out that there was no whirlpool tub. We called the front desk and spoke with Caitlin who informed us that none of the rooms have that type of tub. When I told her the website shows that, she answered with "ohhh". We were told that she would call us later in the day to offer us another room. We never received a call. Room was dirty with cobwebs on the bathroom lights, broken furniture, stains on the couch. Grounds: dirty, overflowing trash cans, dog messes and glass on the sand beach sitting area. Glass doors covered with handprints, hallway from the parking lot to the lake had trash piled in it and needed to be vacuumed. If you are going to charge resort prices, you need to step up your game. The lack of customer service, the room conditions, and the general appearance and cleanliness this weekend clearly showed it is not worth the money.
Stayed 4 nights at the Bay Point (Bay Point Penthouse) in July 2020. The views are fabulous as this property is right on the lake and the newer nautical decor is beautiful. The bed is super comfortable, and the room conveniently includes a mini fridge, bar sink, and the thoughtful touch of luggage racks at the end of the bed. The room was for the most part very clean although we did find a deodorant from a previous occupant in the side of the sofa bed, lots of cobwebs and spiders on the porch and spill stains on the porch floor. Since our stay was during the pandemic, we anticipated reduced services which was the case. We did wish there was information on the web site offering guidance on pandemic changes (there was none) or even guidance offered at check in or provided on an in-room info sheet (also none.) For those traveling during the pandemic, be aware that rooms are not serviced except upon turnover. Extra supplies are available - just ask and they will leave needed items in a bag at your door. If you would like trash emptied, leave it in the hall. Masks are worn by all staff who are in guest-facing positions. Additionally, some common areas in the Inns are closed off. A few other changes have occurred since our last visit to Mill Falls several years ago, possibly due to the new ownership. There is no longer a complimentary continental breakfast, and front desks of all Mill Falls Inns are closed except for Church Landing. This means that with the exception of housekeeping, there are NO Mill Falls staff members available at the Bay Point. Check in and check out is at Church Landing for all Inns. For security reasons, this made us a bit uneasy. At night the Bay Point is fully accessible but not staffed. Fortunately, our trip was uneventful. During our stay we did use the pool and enjoyed the lake access over at Church Landing. Pool cleanliness could be improved.
The Bay Point at Mill Falls location is spectacular- right on the lake. We have a room with a balcony which is perfect because we love watching all the action on the water. When we arrived, we drove to the location, went inside and there was a sign at the check-in desk saying that we need to check in at the Church Landing Hotel which we passed on our way into town. Now we had to get back in the car and drive in the direction that we just came from (which is not easy because there is so much traffic at this time of year). It would have been nice if they had told us when we booked the hotel approximately 3 weeks ago that we needed to check in at Church Landing.
On our first day we were sitting on the balcony and the guests next door were outside smoking. I really thought that this was a non-smoking hotel. We couldn’t even enjoy the outside because the smoke came wafting in our direction the whole time. When I called to ask about smoking on the property I was told it IS allowed. This doubled our disappointment so far.
We are here until July 17. We will be eating in the restaurant tonight with my family. Let’s hope the rest of our stay is more pleasant.
We stayed in Room 241 . The room was nice however sitting on the deck was noisy. Directly below our room was the restaurant which was open from 3-9 pm. The traffic just behind the property was constant and very loud. If you're looking for peace and quiet you would probably be disappointed.
The deck was covered with spider webs although I never saw a live spider.
