Pool had water but the hot tub did not so it was all closed. Exercise room was reservation only and that's okay. Elevator not working so my son and I had to haul our heavy 12 day first day vacation bags up to the 3rd floor.
Room was surprising nice. Had a view of the distant Vegas Strip. Walls paper thin. It's 3 am and my next door neighbor is still watching TV and I can almost understand the dialogue.
Our room had a kitchenette and a Smith's grocery store across the strip mall parking lot soo convenient and closes at 11 pm. You don't even have to cross the street they share the same parking lot. If you like to gamble there is a 24 hour bar casino in the same strip mall and Front Desk Liz said there is another on the other side of the hotel.
Liz was kind of standoff-ish at first because so many things I expected were not working and she was probably receiving a lot of flack for it, but, hey, she is not responsible her manager is.
I booked them because they were close to the Hoover Dam and it is also closed, also not her fault haha. For the pool, why couldn't they just secure a plywood board over the hot tub so no one falls into the empty tub and keep the pool open?
Disappointed and so was my son. He wanted to give one star. However, Liz was nice and they have frozen food sales from Costco that are reasonably priced, I almost forgot how good their Angus Burgers are especially at $2.50! Way better than fast food in the strip mall: Del Taco.
Oh, and although my son's iPhone had no problem getting on their internet, my Microsoft Surface could not and I had to hotspot my iPhone. Instead of going to Mount Rushmore and back, we are going to come back via Yellowstone and Old Faithful. I really needed internet to do that: changing all our hotel reservations, researching, etc.
I think if everything were working they'd be a four because of the thin walls, so when you don't inform your guests in advance that so many amenities are out of service so we can change hotels, that is unfair. Especially when have to cancel 24 hours in advance of 4 pm to not be charged.
