Stayed there with my family with young children and the stay was perfect. The room was new, spacious, clean even with music. Breakfast was very nice. Staff helpful and friendly. Location perfect, 5min to each important sightseeing. We even have lunch in the hotel restaurant enjoying the Russian cuisine. Highly recommended for those visiting Vladimir or Suzdal.
The Orion is quite nicely located close to most of the tourist interest sites. We had a separate bedroom in our room, which was on the top floor. We only had a skylight for a window so no view to speak of. The bed was very hard - we would have preferred a softer mattress - both my wife and I had aches from sleeping on it but is was okay for the our stay of 4 nights. The breakfast was really quite good - you are given a menu to choose what you like and it's made to order. One can order as many things as one wants so no need to go away wanting more! One helps themselves to coffee, tea, croisants, yogurt, breads. The spa area is really nice.......nice warm pool - 29 C.! - very enjoyable - modern type large whirlpool with many jets - then a dry sauna and a wet sauna. One does have to pay to use the spa area - 300 rubles per person per hour - I've never seen that before in a hotel. I would rather pay a fee up front when you book the room.
Stayed here two nights when touring the ring. Hotel reception was freindly and helpful, room was a very good standard, clean with good facilities. Breakfast was of a good standard and they were flexible to what people needed.
Not much to say really, overall it’s in a very good location right in the centre of Vladimir with easy access to a lot of local restaurants and the historic attractions of the city. At £65 a night excellent value, if you are coming to Vladimir I can recommend it to you. A key thing to note is there is an industrial area some distance from the centre of town where the attractions are and other hotels might be in that less convenient place.
I've stayed at the Orion several times over the past few years, from one to four nights per trip. I've always found it clean and friendly. They always seem to be updating it. On my last trip, the small breakfast room was replaced by a much larger and nicer room, with a very good breakfast buffet included in the price. I like the location... close to a nice mall, a number of good restaurants, and within walking distance of the "downtown" and Golden Gate, etc. I highly recommend the Orion!
We have been to Vladimir over 20 times. This is our first time at the Orion Hotel. It was very nice, 3 star hotel. The room and hotel are very quiet which is very nice! The internet is good. The breakfast is to order, and it was very good. We did not eat at the resturant except for breakfast. It is near the mall - which makes the location very nice. The only three draw backs are no hotel parking. There is a pay lot next door but very expensive. Our friends parked at the mall and walked back. There are steps to go down with the luggage to get into the hotel, no ramp there. Inside there is a very steep ramp which if you are careful you can put your luggage on and walk down more steps to get to the desk . Also the tub was very slick which gave me concern; we were very careful when showering. . We may upgrade our room on a next visit for one with a shower stall. We stayed here three nights. The desk clerks do speak English. The do have a hot water kettle in the room for tea in the morning.
