Country Manor is very quaint. There are animals roaming around and the property is very large, with several buildings for guests and two pools. The rooms are large and have a/c. The restaurant on site was good, the food choices buffet style.
Very friendly hosts and employees, too!

We came here first when we arrived in Johannesburg - spent our first night in country before we headed to Zulu Nyala then came back for one night after safari before we went to Victoria Falls and then another five nights before heading home. A wonderful experience!! Grounds are beautiful and well-maintained. There is a lovely pool and several lounge chairs around the pool. Zebras, Peacocks, nyala close by. Staff are great. Our first night my traveling companion had an accident and staff responded very quickly and appropriately. They continued to be friendly and outgoing in every area. Food was wonderful. Rooms great size and beds extremely comfortable. They help you set up J'burg excursions and the drivers were very pleasant and helpful and friendly!!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Country Manor. The staff are excellent and provide fantastic service. Our 7 year old son had an awesome time at the beautiful property. There are several cute dogs that greet and play with guests. Especially Jodi, the chocolate Labrador, who always had a ball in her mouth looking for kids to play with her or she would just jump in the pool with the kids. Horses, ponies, zebras roam the property too. Our room was very spacious. The food was decent though they could use more variety. All in all, great stay outside the city and we would stay again.

We stayed on our way to Zulu Nyala for Safari. The dining room was being remodeled in our building.

Lots of dogs welcomed my daughter much to her delight. Jody played catch in and around the pool. Very comfortable estate.

Meals were OK. Wine list is good - cheap and tasty.

Downside was that they started remodeling at 7:30 in the morning below us. I had to go to the main reception to get someone to vcome and reschedule these guys. Another downside is that the last guess had made off with the last key to get out onto our terrace which was very inviting. They could not open the door for us until they had a new lock cylinder.

Questions & answers about the pool

Answer from RusRed

We were there in July, and to be honest, I did not have any desire to go into any pools. You have to remember that July in South Africa is January in the northern hemisphere. However, you can enjoy the sun during the day, but it goes rather cold at night, as soon as the sun is down.
