We stayed at the Country Inn in a suite as a bar for a vacation in New Orleans. It's about a 40 min drive down to the city from the hotel but it's also easily connected to the Gulf coast with Biloxi / Gulfport all within an hours drive.
Parking facilities are decent although they need to sort out the steep curb to get into the property from the road. Check-in staff were easy to deal with and were always available when we needed them.
As for the room, we were a bit disappointed by a couple of issues. Firstly, the living room area of the room was very dark. That's more a building issue that can't be solved. But the living area was not really utilised because it didn't feel cozy or relaxing but instead clinical and dark. The second issue we came across was the WiFi. We did try to get support but it is just their system. It was painfully slow just to browse the Web - we didn't even try streaming or anything intense. If you are intending to work, this will be an issue. The lack of a safe was a disappointment, and the ironing board cover kept falling off and was frustrating to use. Finally, the pillows were quite small and don't have any firmer option so it was a bit flat to lay your head on.
The room itself was very clean and housekeeping always did a good job (although they took and didn't replace our shower curtain one day! Which we had to do ourselves).
The outdoor pool is tiny, it's more for kids and fun than use for swimming / exercise. There is a gym which was relatively quiet and had some good equipment on site.
Breakfast was not too bad, a selection of cereals, waffles, pastries, breads, yogurts, fruits and hot food which changes subtly daily. The breakfast area was always clean and quickly restocked and replenished. Shame about FOX being the news channel of choice!
There are a bunch of restaurants and fast food joints really close by. Overall it wasn't a bad experience, I just think for us booking a suite we were expecting a better quality of room. And the WiFi, small pool were also disappointing.
