We stayed here for a little over a week after our home caught on fire. The staff was more than accommodating. When checking in the young lady asked the reason for our stay and when I told her our home caught on fire she gave us a discount. She was very empathetic and sweet. Every day as we would pass the front desk, all of the guest agents would give a warm hello. The rooms were spacious and very clean. There is also a basketball court that my daughter was excited about, nice fitness center and a laundry room that is NOT coin operated!
For nearly 2 weeks, we were visiting a close relative in hospice care nearby. The folks at Homewood Suites took great care of us, including driving us back and forth to the Hospice House everyday. Suites are nice size, the fitness center is above average for this class of hotel, breakfasts are good and the evening happy hours got us though some tough times (Lazy Magnolia beer on draft!) Free washers and dryers in the guest laundry.
For over 25 years I have travelled with my family or for work. I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels. I don’t remember ever being so confortable and being better taken care of. When we arrived the front desk attendant enthusiastically greeted and checked us in. The hotel was beautifully inside, the suite was clean well equipped with a kitchen, living area and bedroom. The bed was very comfortable, slept like a baby. Two TVs in the room allowed the kids to watch their shows, while my wife and I enjoyed ours. The whole hotel was kept impeccably clean, the breakfast was very good and pool area cozy. The gym had a good amount of equipment, a lot more than I expected. Walmart, Sams and Bed Bath and Beyond next door are very convenient. Also, a good amount of restaurants close the hotel were available. The number one asset was the people who work there, courteous, attentive and helpful. Overall, this hotel is at the top of my list as the best I ever stayed in. Thank you Homewood Suites Slidell, it was really a pleasure.
This property is awesome. The breakfast, Basketball court, fitness center, rooms. It was a wonderful over night stay. We were traveling to New Orleans from North Carolina and choice Slidell as a pit stop before we spent a week in New Orleans. Awesome Stay
I cross referenced this hotel with all the hotels in the area, with Yelp and Trip Advisor reviews. This looked like the best place, and sure enough, I experienced first hand that this is the BEST hotel in the area. These reviews didn't let me down. The staff really makes the place, Lisa in the kitchen, and Jake in reception, just amazing people. The food offerings in the morning and evening are great, the rooms clean and trendy. The common areas are large and spacious good for relaxing in the morning with coffee and a glass of wine in the evening. This place has a gorgeous pool. The gym is pretty awesome as well, personal TV's on exercise equipment, personal ear phones, cold water inside the gym. It is just a great hotel. I have nothing bad to say about this place, except for thank you and that all the reviews are spot on about this place. The only thing bad is that it is a little tricky to find, or the road that leads to it, it is an weird frontage road, that you may miss, so keep an eye out. It is nestled in the trees behind Sam's Club and Walmart.
