Every time we stay in Waterloo, IA, we stay at the Howard Johnson hotel. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. We had some excitement during our stay in October and Rebecca helped move us to another room. She did a great job taking care of the situation and ensuring that we had a wonderful stay. All the staff has been wonderful, but Rebecca went over and above to show us that the customer is important. The Highway 69 Diner is across the parking lot from the hotel. Which is another reason we like to stay here.
My wife and I were in town for an event and had a King Bed, Deluxe Room for our stay. After a very full day at our event on Saturday it was very enjoyable to kick back in the Sitting area on the couch and relax watching tv. Room was very clean and shower had no issues keeping up with the hot water.
Room was on the small side, but fine for a one night stay. I have back problems and sleep best on a very firm mattress, so found this one to be just a little soft. The hotel is located close to the hospital and medical clinics we will be using. I expect we will be returning several times over the next year.
The room was very clean and well organized. The breakfast was good and the employees here were very nice and helpful. It was a very good hotel. I would stay here again. The beds were comfortable and the pool was nice.
Really don't know why I picked Howard Johnson's for the one night stay. We walked into the lobby to be greeted by pleasant staff and a fresh coat of paint. The breakfast was the usual "hot" breakfast and the bathroom of our room had some problems with the repaint. But to be honest, the overwhelming paint job with the good old aqua and orange didn't seem to bother me.
