I can't even say enough about how great the Moxy in Chicago was! We arrived way before our check-in time because we had an early flight. Since our room was not quite ready yet, they held our bags for us while we walked around the corner to get a bite to eat. They had our room ready for us at noon which I believe was 4 hours before our actual check-in time. The atmosphere was fun and casual, which was right up our alley. There are games scattered around on the tables which I thought was fun and there is a 24 hour taco joint attached to the hotel as well. I think I tried almost all of the taco choices and they were great! Kylie at the front desk is so sweet and helpful and so was Ellen, the assistant manager. The bartenders were super fun and always willing to give a suggestion on things to do. When we travel, we typically like to see what the locals enjoy doing and every suggestion they gave us was spot on!! I really wish I could remember all of the bartenders that helped us, but I remember Brandon and JJ right off the top of my head. We will definitely be back to the Moxy next time we visit Chicago!
I was working an intense project and needed downtown, found Moxy at a good rate, the room was excellent. What made the week was Ellen, a manager that was helpful regarding the train and ORD, and managed the fun, cool bar that was fantastic, I could work late night, and also enjoy it's beautiful layout. Ellen you are a star!
This was our first time staying at a Moxy hotel and we had an excellent experience! We were greeted on our arrival by Ellen who got us checked in, explained the Moxy concept to us (European-inspired rooms), and genuinely made us feel welcomed. Probably one of the best check in experiences in a while! Then she got us settled at the bar and prepared our welcome cocktail, which was a fruity/tart concoction that was made from in-house ingredients and tasted great. We finished our drink and made our way up to the room. We had to scan our key in the elevator before selecting our floor, an extra security measure we always like to see. Our room was exactly as expected by having a smaller European feel but a very comfortable vibe. Everything was laid out fairly well with the bathroom being the first part of the room and then a fold down desk and bed with two bedside tables. The bed was very comfy and the pillows had just the right amount of fluff. Everything was clean and we even had a fairly good view of downtown. I wasn’t sure how I’d like the size of the room being so small but it really didn’t feel cramped and it gave us everything we could have needed from a hotel room. The River North area has a bunch of great restaurants within walking distance but there’s also Zombies Tacos in the lobby of the hotel if you’d rather not go too far from the hotel. The lobby area had a dj the night we checked it from 5pm-9pm so when we came back from dinner then lobby was bumping with a huge crowd. Such an energetic vibe! This was an overall great experience and we can’t wait to stay here again!
Very nice Hotel located in the River North Area. We stayed there for six nights and had a very good time! Friendly staff, a nice room and a ver good service. Perfect spot for exploring Chicago, two Metro stations in walkable distance. Will definitely stay there again, when I come back to Windy City.
To start off, the service here is EXCEPTIONAL! When you go here please go see Shelby at the bar. She’s honestly amazing. My boyfriend and I came in on a busy Saturday night & Shelby made us feel like the only ones in the room. The food and the drinks are great, but the service will make you come back!
