I required a 5+ hour drive due to a death in the family. I was introduced to a disgusting room just after midnight. The first room had large trimmed toe nails on the floor that were not vacuumed up. In the second room the PICTURES speak volumes. Red Lion corporate has no tel# for complaints. All must address any issues with the owner directly. This is a franchise that carries the RL hotel name only. The owner will not respond. An 8 inch cealing cob web. A fire sprinkler needing serious dusting. Water damage in the bathroom. Tile with a hole in the wall. Black hair at the pillowcase (I have white). Mattress in the window and more. See the pictures. I have submitted only a fraction of them. Attempts to resolve this from an "unnamed owner" with a written apology go to deaf ears. THEY JUST DON'T GET IT. I spent $ 105 but advised friends and family away. This lost them an easy $ 600+ to date. The $ continues to go to other hotels. You can choose for yourself if this works for you. CV-19 stay safe out there.
Booked one week in advance - 2 queen beds for $240. In Building B on the ground level with zero view and no privacy. No coffee maker. Cleanliness was not good. I should have taken pictures. The beach was also strewn with litter. The front desk lady was very rude and did nothing to explain where things were located and acted like I was a fool when I asked where the breakfast would be. “In the breakfast room” she said. She also didn’t give our breakfast coupons until I asked about it. She was VERY rude. We eventually found our room in building B. No maid service was provided we stayed 2 nights. When I called that evening for clean towels. They said they bring to the room. They never did. I was charged an extra $15 on my card which I have disputed. All in all. I would never stay here again and it is giving the Red Lion Inn a very bad reputation.
There were many problems with my stay. The room was not clean. Feces on the toilet seat, hair in the sink, hair in one of the beds, and trash on the floor. The toilet constantly ran. The fan in the bathroom doesn't function which caused the smoke alarm to go off in the morning when showering, which required my family to evacuate. The staff was unaware that the alarm was going off until I walked to the front desk. The front desk attendant apparently was aware that this problem happens in room 242 routinely. There was no information about food ordering in the room. The front desk attendant gave no information about it when I asked even though the website says you can add breakfast for $11 per person. I was told only that there's no breakfast unless I go to a restaurant. The hall smells moldy and also smells like the staff uses a heavy amount of cleaner to cover the smell.
I spoke with Nicole at the front desk about my concerns, cleanliness during the pandemic and the smoke alarm situation and was told "sorry, I'll take it up with housekeeping". I expected something more substantial. Taking it up with housekeeping doesn't make up for anything. Especially the lack of cleaning during the pandemic.
Book what is supposed to be a premium king with river view only to find out they are on the ground level with zero view and no privacy. First night was spent listening all night to partying with little sleep. Woke up to realize the rooms have no coffee makers went up to lobby to get coffee for 2 had to wait got back to room to sit on patio only to discover someone vomited on it and the door. Staff moved us to different room but the weekend was a waste. Never spent time in a hotel that A the higher priced rooms were not on the higher floors and B no coffee maker. This is an old worn out property not worth the money management should have know when you sell a bunch of rooms to a biker group there could be noise issues they could have managed it differently.
We wanted a quiet hotel with a nice view and we got it!! We called the morning of our trip to Post Falls and we got a room with a king bed, a patio and a great view of the Spokane River. The staff was helpful and the food in the dining room was wonderful.
The neighborhood was very quiet and we never heard sounds from any rooms or the hall. Be prepared they don't have coffee pots in the room, but the coffee in the lobby was very good.
The beds were comfortable, the room was clean and the bathroom had one of the deepest tubs I have seen, no worries about showering and getting water on the floor. The door to the lobby and the bathroom did need to be restained and sanded (both doors were a little hard to open and close). But that is not big deal compared to the price of the room, the patio, the river and the food.
At this time Idaho does not require face covering in every store, the hotel did recommend social distancing and face coverings. Some stores did require them so have yours with you.
