Everything in town was booked up and contrary to the confirmation email check in time of 09:00, they made everyone wait until 15:00 and then there was a snake of a line for an hour. One woman checked in and started yelling about how disgusting her room was and demanded a refund. They told everyone that they were still cleaning and to wait 15 min until entering their rooms (even those who . My sheets were filthy so they gave me another room. A guest behind me said there was hair all in his bed and he was demanding a refund. The new room had enough TP for maybe 3 uses and less dirty sheets. They told me it was due to COVID? The hall carpets were disgustingly stained, the front door was rarely manned, the side door was taped open and the back door's lock did not work. The showers ran out of hot water and drained slow so you were standing in your dirty water (tub had dirty rings). The light and fan were on one switch so when you turned on the bathroom light this horrendously loud fan would turn on. They would not clean your room and if you wanted clean towels you had to bring the dirty ones to the front desk. We walked around in our shoes in the room and the carpet had nasty sticky stuff on it. The pool was empty and it was right on the highway with ramp construction right next door. The stairwell had filthy, peeling wallpaper and it was stapled to the wall in places.
There was writing on the walls and furniture, dirt on the extremely stained carpet, the beds were poorly made, the mirrors were smudgy and clearly never wiped or cleaned, and the bathroom had dirt on the floor and hair in the shower. It smelled disgusting. We decided to not even stay the night because it was so bad, and we are used to cheap hotels. Truly filthy. I would have slept in car over this, but luckily we were able to get a room at the Boise Red Lion. Don’t stay here.
Where to start? In placing our reservation, I was told there was semi-truck parking. What parking there is for “big rigs” is off property, on the street, so, there may be no parking in front of the facility. It may be down the street. In getting to our room (room #312), we discover two twin beds. I never asked for twin beds. The clerk switched us to room #222 which had a king bed, which is what we prefer. The room was in a strange state: we had to plug in 3 lights, plug in the refrigerator, plug in the heater/air conditioner and plug in the microwave. I wanted a glass of water and also wanted to put water in the coffee maker but, nooo......there’s no water coming out. The water was turned off! Really? Who turns off the water in a room that’s being rented? The water in the sink drains slowly.! I’m not done, though. My gentleman used the rest room, and guess what? There is no toilet paper to be found! Not a single square of it! What if someone were using the toilet and needed it right away and there was no one to go downstairs to get some? Then I went to use the restroom and the toilet wouldn’t flush. Yes, you guessed it...that water was turned off, too! What? So, now that we’ve plugged things in, turned on the water, and have gotten toilet paper, it’s time for a shower. The water won’t drain. Turns out all I have to do is to take out the plug. I come out and my gentleman is laughing. He tells me it gets better. It turns out he and had turned down the bed cover and, get ready, there is only a bottom sheet. I’m quite certain a bed is made with two sheets! Unbelievable!! Have these people running this place given up? How do you explain this? The night before we stayed in a Rodeway Inn in Jantzen Beach, in Portland, Oregon and it was a great experience. Needless to say, we are not pleased and we will NEVER stay here again. Do yourselves a favor, folks.....STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION!! I would have left a lower rating if it were possible to do so. Conni Short
We reserved this room via the internet from home and when we arrived for some reason it had reserved a smoking room. I get it, not their fault but when we went to our room it was so filthy that even a person who smokes would not want to stay there. It was one step up from sleeping outside on the ground. Fortunately for us they had another room they could move us to but after seeing how filthy the first room was I was afraid to even take my shoes off. My sister also stayed in a room there and she said the head of her bed was several inches lower than the foot of the bed but she was dealing with a sick husband and didn't want to change rooms. It just takes all the fun out of traveling when you reserve a room and are trusting the establishment is going to provide a clean place to sleep and most of us don't want to change hotels when we are tired.
I am a big time “read reviews before going somewhere” person. I have written numerous reviews myself. This time my boyfriend had booked a room here without really reading about it and I thought as a positive person, sure why not it can’t be that bad... well it was! First driving up it looks fine, pool was covered for the season and it looked tidy as we walked in.
The man behind the desk seemed friendly and it looked like we were okay. But things changed after we got in the elevator. A pile of sunflower seed shells welcomed us in the corner of the elevator. Our room looked okay at first glance and then we noticed the half ass wallpaper hung up and patched, the weird curtains hanging and the REALLY old microwave.... the mini fridge was leaking and the phone was from a totally different hotel chain. Ok so whatever it’s just a room... so we went out to dinner and came back to loud banging and footsteps above us. You could clearly hear children running around at 11pm. My boyfriend tried calling downstairs to complain but the phone wouldn’t work... it wasn’t even plugged in. Still wouldn’t work so he went downstairs to talk to the guy at the Front desk. Apparently he was going to call them to settle down... My boyfriend decided to take a shower and the shower head fell off and couldn’t get it back on. We had enough, he went back down and this time we got a different room. This room was a little better, quiet at least. Mattress from another hotel chain...
Next morning, we thought we would try the breakfast... we were told from 6:30-9am. We were down there well before 8:30am and all that was left was some light brown coffee, weird tasting orange juice and waffle mix that was separating and odd looking... We decided to go to Denny’s instead...
I do no recommend this place at all. We will not be back!
