this place was chosen because it advertised as only 14 miles from sebring raceway, which we attended for 2 days, and price seemed reasonable compared with other motels in area. glad it was only for 1 night. online photos must have been taken many years ago.
agoda.com constantly states "this property is in high demand." priceline.com always reads either "only 1 or 2 rooms left at this price." we made a terrible choice. business card says 'luxurious.' hah! check-in was conducted behind a small plexiglass shield with a tray to push in/out (after being 'buzzed' in.) that was our 1st clue. advertised was a pool, wi-fi. had neither. no clock, soap or coffee pot in room. old hand grime on furniture, doors. carpet dirty. dented refrigerator was warm. no usable ice machine. i asked for a refund and was denied.
This place is so bad.. for starters the inn keeper wasn't very helpful. I checked in at 623pm and checked out for a full refund at 647pm. I had been back to the lobby twice separate from checkin. The phone in the room didn't work.. not even to call the front desk. There were two TVs in the room and neither worked. I was informed that I had to plug them in and connect the cable cord for them to work. Even after telling her the phone didn't work to call the front desk she informed me they would check it the next day.. after I check out😡.I was furious because she didn't even try to make the situation right or over me another room. I wouldn't send an animal to stay at that place. Horrible outdated rooms and terrible customer service! Worst place ever I wish I could give it a negative 5!!!
My mistake, I forgot to book a reservation at my usual hotel for a trip to Sebring. The only available reservation online was the Budget Inn, so I figured I had no choice. I arrived to find that the room was dirty, in disrepair and wreaked of smoke. I figured it would be my penance for forgetting to make a reservation. Then I went to close the windows and turn on the A/C only to discover that the windows DIDN'T LOCK. The one in the bath infact wouldn't even stay completely closed. Needless to say I refused to stay and had to find a room....10 miles up the road. Avoid this place at all costs! No different than sleeping in a tent.
Noisey! You can hear ALL conversations in rooms next to you. Don't be an oversized person or you will struggle to use the bathroom. NO coffeemaker. Zenneth TV is either original from the 70's or 80's or was obtained from salvage or thrift store with broken speaker so the sound is scratchy and hard to hear, but you do have plenty of conversation next door to keep you entertained, outdated microwave which also was sticky on the outside - YUCK!!!!! The rooms are not safe, common house entry door style lock - the kind you can take to any hardware store and make a cheap copy to use to access at any time. The pillows were likely from thrift store. They use A LOT of air-freshener to hide the actual stink of the room, bed, and pillows. Perhaps to cover the smoke smells. Recommended only for a halfway house or for the owners to SELL to a developer to tear down and build something decent. Location was nice!
Yes, this motel is dated. It has no usable pool and no breakfast but it is cheap, has a Publix opposite and fast food restarants doing breakfast too. Motel is old but rooms are pleasantly decorated and have fairly new clean carpets and bedding. I had a clean room with fridge with a freezer compartment and microwave. Old LG TV with a slightly poor picture on TV which I improved by tightening up the cable connection. Great choice of channels. Bed was clean but a little too soft. Bathroom was clean but no surface to put toiletries. Table and chairs and a ceiling light. Air Con was noisy. Wifi only worked near reception and the front row of rooms, not in my room at the back of the property. No hairdryer or coffee making facilities.Near to lake and a great restaurant, Sunset Grille. Convenient for Sebring Racetrack and Highlands Hammock State Park.
