We stayed at Emerald Beach for the month of December during Covid. The campground is located on the Santa Rosa Sound, East of Pensacola and West of Fort Walton Beach. It is right along Route 98, which means there is significant road noise at all hours! You do learn to tune it out. There are grocery stores, a Walmart and other shopping nearby. It’s a short drive to Pensacola where you will find any and all shopping you might need as well as wonderful beaches and sights. Pensacola Beach has some fabulous restaurants.
The campground has its own small beach area (on the Sound), with permanent umbrellas. There is also a nice little fenced dog area near the beach. There are a few campsites which have a small deck that overlooks the beach and the Sound-these are tough to get! The long walkway over the water leading out to their own gazebo on the Sound had been destroyed by a hurricane in the fall so was not usable. The water is fairly shallow off the beach, and good for swimming. We did not use the bathrooms at all so cannot comment on their upkeep.
The grounds are well maintained. The campsites are tightly spaced and unless you have an end sight near the beach you will only see the water if you walk out into the road. There are no walking trails so we just walked up and down the rows daily. We stayed here to be close to family for the holidays but can’t say that we would stay here again due to the tight spaces. The staff are friendly however we asked from day one not to have to move sites for the last week of our stay – while they said they would try to make that happen I don’t believe they really did. The sites along the fence on the west side of the park are VERY tight and there is little room for the tow vehicle. The seating area for these sites is at the back of the space and feels VERY closed in… avoid them if possible!
This campground is located right on the water (Santa Rosa Sound), East of Pensacola and West of Fort Walton Beach. It is conveniently right off the side of Route 98, but the traffic noise wasn’t bad. There is a lot of shopping in the area, including fast food and restaurants. The National Seashore is a reasonably short drive away.
The campground has its own beach area (on the Sound), with permanent umbrellas. There are a limited number of campsites which have a small deck that overlooks the beach and the Sound. They have a long walkway over the water leading out to their own gazebo on the Sound, which gives great views of the Sound and the area. The water is fairly shallow off the beach, and good for swimming. They have kayak and sailboat rentals available to campers. They have a game room and food area near the beach. The pool is adjacent to the office. The staff was nice.
The grounds are well maintained. The campsites have a reasonable space between them, and they are all just a short walk from the beach. We really liked this campground. I would certainly stay there again if we get into this area.
This is a small rv park. Staff were friendly and helpful. It had beach front and cute decor. Sites were easy to park in they seemed level. With room for a tow vehicle.
The pool is extremely small. Easy access to gulf shores.
hecked out this RV Park on our last stay to Navarre Beach couple years before when we stayed at Navarre Beach RV Park just up the road and found it appealing. Check in was easy and park well maintained and clean. Stayed for 4 days and the sunset was very enjoyable viewing from the fishing pier. Other campers were very friendly with family atmosphere. Pool a little small but nice to cool off in. The only issue we had was the sites were rather short with no room to park your vehicle. Literally had to park our truck under the canopy of camper which left virtually no room to sit outdoors or BBQ. Other than that, enjoyed our stay and enjoyed rest of amenities park offered.
Stayed here the week of Thanksgiving to visit family. It’s a very nice park, that’s pretty well-maintained. My only negative comment would be about the Wi-Fi. I did not expect service that would provide video streaming or anything like that; however, even the basic service was pretty slow. I wound up using my phone as a hotspot more often than attempting to use the Wi-Fi.
The beach area isn't very large, but it's nice. They even have a small beach area in their dog park.
Another plus, compared to other parks, washing your rig is not a problem. In fact, they will even lend you a hose to hook up to their well water.
The laundry room was clean and well maintained, but the units were residential grade (not very large).
Finally, everyone on staff we interacted with was very friendly.
Odds are, you would also enjoy your stay.
