This is a fantastic beach. Casa de Playa is overall a very nice condo building. It's on the small side which is great for those who hate crowded massive condos. We never use the pool but it is heated and somewhat small. The top level condo furthest south is the best one by far. 4th floor with incredible views and privacy and that is what is the best part. The kitchen is fully stocked and the decor inside is very nice. The negative side is that the master bedroom is furthest room from beach. I like to be able to have doors and a balcony from bedroom to beach but that is the trade off. Other than that, I really like this place!
We stayed in 202 for 4 weeks over the holidays. We have rented in Indian Rocks Beach for 3 years and this year we chose Casa dePlaya because the condo was larger and we needed a larger place because we have a new addition to the family. The family enjoyed their stay this year. The condo is charming and the decor is carefully thought out....very clean too. The owner provided a port-a-crib, stroller, and booster high chair for use in the condo. The pool was clean and our family enjoyed many good times in the pool and on the beach. The condo grill area is clean and easy to use. The assigned parking space for the condo is quite tight and we ended up parking in the guest spots (only a few on a first come basis). The walls are thin and it is easy to hear the neighbors and the thundering footsteps above.
The kitchen is functional and the owner had just installed beautiful quartz countertops. However, he phoned us the day before we left for our rental and informed us that the backsplash wasn't in and was there a day or two when we would be out of the property so it could be installed....didn't know what to say because we had so many in our family there to enjoy the beach and rest. Also wanted us to remove a cabinet door so it could be test painted for repainting....wasn't able to accommodate either request but am sure that it is now done beautifully.
The bedrooms are nice and large and bedding quite comfortable.
There is a protective film covering for the patio doors which look out over the pool and ocean and this helps block the sun which sets over the ocean. There are shades for the patio doors as well. The view of the ocean is breath-taking...
It was customary in our previous rentals for the owner/management to start the renters out with paper towels, toilet paper, dishwasher pods and liquid. However, there were only a few sheet so paper towels on the roll as well as the toilet paper and no dishwasher pods and very little dishwashing liquid.
The owner uses as towel/linen service and it replaced the towels/linens once mid-way through our 4 week stay. The replacement towels however differed from the towels when we arrived and were very poor quality. There is a stackable washer/dryer in the unit and although it is older, it functioned very well. There were only 4 beach towels for a 6 person rental.
The condo is located within walking distance of many fine eateries which are very reasonably priced. Internet was very slow...it didn't work in the master bedroom.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
This unit (208) is in dire need of some attention. Bed linens, bath towels, and new Master bedroom furniture, The TV'S in the bedrooms are from the Fred Flintstone era, A fesh coat of paint would be nice also.
Well kept smaller size condo building. Three floors, elevator and pool. We stayed in 212 an ocean front 2 bedroom. Was the cleanest unit we have rented in years of coming to Indian Rocks. I think that might be because the property is managed by a company 3 palms and they run what seemed to me to be a tight ship. When we go back to IRB we will either rent this same condo or other building 3 Palms manages. Thank you Jill. The condo itself is roomy, good size bedrooms. Master Bed is hard. I liked it my sister did not. The pictures are true to the unit. Furniture is worn somewhat but again it was clean and the view is FABULOUS. The only con is that they use keys to get to and from the beach and pool area. Its doable but would be better if they offered more keys per unit for that.
We stayed in 201 for 8 nights in May 2016. Nice, clean condo with 2 bed/2bath. King master with new furniture and comfortable king size bed. 2nd bedroom had 2 beds-double and daybed. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could need. Sticking laundry was fine. Flat screen tv in living room and both bedrooms. Living room furniture was slightly worn but comfortable. We had a corner balcony with gulf front view. Table and chairs plus lounger on balcony. Spotted dolphins in the morning while drinking coffee on the balcony - does not get any better than that!! Unit 201 is on the 1st floor, above covered parking area. Unit has a storage locker that had beach chairs & toys to use. Plenty of beach towels in the condo. Games, puzzles, books and even binoculars. They thought of everything!! Complex had gas grill with seating area. Good size pool with lounge chairs. If not interested in pool, just walk out the pool gate and you are on the beach. Beach was nice and quiet and not crowded. Felt like it was our own private beach. 6-7 min walk to several restaurants, ice cream shop, post office and CVS. We used 3Palms and had no problems at all. Overall great experience - very happy with condo, location and property mgmt company.
