We booked for a week which included Memorial Day wkend. They had overbooked so there weren't enough parking spaces on site. This did become an issue between guests. We were reluctant to leave because we thought we might not have a parking spot when we got back. We felt this was poor management. Also, every time we have had to go by the main lobby, the door has been locked. We had to 'call' for the lady who always seemed very annoyed that she was being disturbed. We have come here before & the folks up front were very friendly as were the rest of the staff. It's been a bit disappointing this time. Towels, beach chairs, grill tools, & coffee packets are available. Pool got redone last year & looks great. Some updates have been done to the room, but still need some more. Kitchen isn't well equipped for cooking. Location is amazing & views are spectacular. This property has the potential to be a fabuous resort. That's not being met at this time.
We stayed in the two bedroom unit (#300) for a week and loved it! The unit was clean and well stocked with all the kitchen and bathroom amenities that we could ever need. Our unit was ocean-view, not ocean-front, but we had a great view of the sunrise and the ocean access was a few steps away. We enjoyed the pool and the easy access to the boardwalk about a mile down the beach. There isn't a restaurant on site but we found easy biking to a couple great places for breakfast (ie,,Famous Steve's and Beach Bucket). The front desk staff was very helpful and we had no issues during our stay.
Some hints for other travelers...the street noise can be loud so if you're a light sleeper, bring ear plugs (Unit #300 is on the street side of the property). The A/C works great but there aren't any ceiling fans in this unit.
The Sea Shells Beach Club isn't fancy or a modern high-rise, but we loved the location and would definitely recommend staying here.
When we arrived to Sea Shells, the outside didn’t look the prettiest. Definitely not run down, but also not a fancy resort. When checking in, we were told that the a/c unit broke in our original room and we would need to stay in a smaller studio unit for our first night, then we would be upgraded to an oceanfront 1-bedroom for the rest of our stay. We didn’t mind, since we would rather stay in a studio for one night than to not have a/c. The studio was meh. It was a decent place to rest that night, but the bathroom was extremely tight. When we moved to the 1-bedroom the next day, we were pleasantly surprised. The room was very clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. The kitchen was fully stocked with plates, utensils, pots, etc. The pool was very nice and the beach was great! We went in October and the tide was very high our whole stay, but there was hardly anyone on the beach. We would stay here again!
very clean rooms, quiet room . everything we need was there. The pool are was well maintained and the pool was kept very clean. Staff was very helpful and very helpful. Really enjoyed our stay... Definitely would return. Best place to stay to watch the sunrise.
Read the reviews before we booked and thought it would be nice for the price (about $200/night after tax) but wow it’s even better than we expected. Definitely will be on my list of places to stay again when in the area. We were in 402, it’s a suite with LR, DR, & king BR. Balcony with ocean view. Small but FULLY equipped kitchen, nice furniture, sofabed plus air mattress if you need it.
