Nice ‘upscale’ eco-lodge with an amazing seamless inside to outside living experience for a great price. Super huge rooms, outdoor shower and your own patio and garden terrace. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Something to note is this is living amongst nature, so you may have some ants and frogs that creep and out if you want to leave your door open. However, the staff provides spray and such. As some reviews stated, the place could do with a little bit of a scrub- sofa covers for example had stains on them in my room.
Like much of Ubud, online car services are discouraged, so you are pushed to us local transport. Although in general I found that annoying about Ubud, because it makes transportation more expensive, it was easy to request a local taxi or motorbike with the front desk. The villa is off the main road, so you have to travel down a little alley road to get to it, but the signs are clear so it wasn’t bad. It is also in the midst of a neighborhood/ several other house so there was some noise just in case you’re looking for complete peace and quiet.
Spent our first two nights here with my wife and 16 year old son. Shared one of the two bedroom villas with a deck overlooking the local rice paddy. What a great introduction to Bali, this accommodation brings a great sense of place. Appropriate build and design for the tropics with great furnishings, very stylish and not at all ‘developer resort’ feel. You would be happy chilling here for a few days and not even leaving to explore. Could maybe do with better cleaning standards overall. The open air bathrooms are great.
We stayed in two bedroom villa with our two daughters (2 and 5). We had beautiful views of paddy fields from our deck. The manager himself as well as the staff were so lovely, especially with our kids. They genuinely care about making sure your stay is the best that can be. Lovely ladies at reception/dining aways made sure kids were looked after and didn't hesitate to alter what's on the menu to suit what kids requested. Kids loved having a swim in the pool which was usually all ours at times we went in. We checked out after 4 nights to go to Nusa Dua and checked in to a big resort feeling sad and realised how much we missed these beautiful people and this lovely place.
We started our trip to Bali by staying 3 nights at Lodtunduh Sari and it couldn't be more perfect. They arranged a taxi to pick us up from the airport and although the driver's English was limited, he made us feel quite welcome. When we arrived at the hotel the staff welcomed us and explained everything about the room and our stay. The breakfast was delicicous, aswell as the dinner we had there(I never had a better Chicken satey in my life) When we wanted to do some sightseeing, they arranged everything, including a guide, who provided us with more then enough information and an answer to all of our questions. If we ever return to Bali/Ubud, we're definitly staying here again! =)
I was in a holiday with my husband. And have made my booking in LodTunduh Sari 3 days in advance. I paid through airbnb and contact the host. Got replay. Got their confirmation. Then asking for direction. Everthing seems ok.
The day we went there to check in. We were from sanur, drove all the way up to ubud, were pretty tired because we just went hiking in Beji Guwang in the afternoon.
I said to my husband that the property that I'v booked is a villa/compound that we will have the space to ourself. I wanted to suprised and impress him. I'v already imagine staying in a cozy private villa/compound near paddy field. We was super exacited.
We reach the property around 7.00pm.
When we get there, the host told me that there is water problem at the villa that I'v booked. There is no water.
He then offered to "upgrade" us to the bigger villa. I was at fist feel relief and thinking that we must be lucky.
Then when he escort me to the villa, to my suprised, he told me that we have to share the villa with another quest (which was already there). I was shocked.
The villa offered was actually not that big. Its a type of joglo house, made from wood and the two rooms was side by side, seperated only with a wooden wall. The door of the each room was glass, with curtains. I can immediately imagine that all the privateness that I wish I could have was gonna be imposibble.
If it was a bussines trip. I probabbly would have taken the offer. But I was in a holiday with my husband and truly looking for place that could offer privacy.
They said that it was the only option they have for us. I immediately fall from feeling lucky to total lost and dissapointment. I asked for refund and tried to not losen my temper. Told them that they should have told me sooner. Not the minute when we arrived, which was already late at night.
They really put us in a difficult situation. I spend almost two hours to find another place. It was a national holiday and alot good property was already booked. So I did not get any villa, but just a hotel to sleep that night.
I am still very dissapointed. Super dissapointed.
