This place seemed ok on the listing. When we arrived I needed to park on the street as they did not have any room to accommodate a car pulling a trailer. The room smelled like bleach when we walked I , which I didn’t mind, it smelled clean. All towels in the bathroom were wet. ALL. We had to hang towels up to dry to be able to use them later for the shower. The book in the room indicated a breakfast from 8-10 but was informed they didn’t do that. Would have been nice to have updated information. The WiFi is pretty slow as well. The room looked like it was being worked on, there was wall patch that was not painted over. Made it look bad. There is one bright overhead light in the room and no table lamps, so I had to keep a bathroom light on for my 2 year old to be able to see. There was something splattered on the bathroom wall that easily wiped off with a finger, so they must not clean to well here. The pool looked nice, but since we went to the beach for the sunset, it was closed when we got back. 8 o’clock seems a bit early for a pool to close in my opinion. Staff was straight forward and didn’t give any information other then the room. Would have been nice to have been given a few tips. Overall this place is ok, but a little on the pricey side for what it is, I would probably choose a different place if I am in the area again.
The hotel is a couple blocks from the beach and many shops and restaurants. The man who checked us in was extremely pleasant and helpful.
With that being said the room is a huge disappointment for $133 a night. The walls have dirt marks all over them along with chunks of paint missing. The rest of the walls have a thick layer of dust on them.
The ductless AC did work. The bathroom sink sprays everywhere when you turn the water on.
We went to look at the pool and there was quite a bit of dirt/sand throughout it. Under the stairs to the second floor there were many towels thrown in a pile.
Recently renovated king room. Good size (quiet) refrigerator, fresh paint, new dual pane windows.
Room faced Pacific Coast Highway yet remarkable quiet stay. Manager and family very professional and helpful. Some reviews made us skeptical but pleasantly surprised. Short walk to the beach and Inn has its own refreshing pool.
The price is reasonable comparatively if you don't want to spend alot. Location central to Downtown and only 2 blocks to Beach. BUT the parking lot is VERY TIGHT, the Rooms are in need of repair and updating and DEEP CLEANING. There were old stains that had been washed but not removed in 1 bedspread. There are places in the bathroom that have peeling paint and mold. A TIRED PROPERTY that wasn't quite up to standards. but it has a nice little pool, and a cute rooftop terrace with seating to watch the sunset. Continental Breakfast was Meh. Yogurts and cereal. Some fruit. Stale muffins and some toast. Coffee and juice. Again Basic. So our review is mixed with good and bad.
This is a nicely refurbished hotel. It does show its age, but that wasn't important. We had family camping nearby, and wanted a place we could stay that was within walking distance from their camp. I didn't care for the Tempur-Pedic® beds, but my husband loved them, so it is just a matter of taste. The room was clean, but a little cramped. If my husband sat on the end of the bed, he had to move for me to walk passed. However, the bathroom was large, and we had really good water pressure. A portable fan in the room was very welcoming for my husband who always sleeps with an overhead fan. We didn't have the breakfast or try the pool, so I can't comment on them. It was nice to be able to walk everywhere you wanted. Parking in Pismo is sketchy at best, so to be able to leave your car parked in the parking lot was a bonus. For a short, overnight stay, this is the way to go. For longer stays, however, we will go back to the Sandcastle.
