... morning after my food poisoning, they understood absolutely nothing, and demanded I pay the full bill.) Other than that the place is in a sorry state of repair. The gym is a joke (the machines are unsafe cheap Chinese knock-offs) and the pool is so acidic that your skin crawls after a short dip.

Avoid the in-house restaurant, even if it means you have to stumble along dark muddy streets for 15-20 minutes to get food. One night we wanted to get some western food at the hotel to break up the monotony of curries, but that gave me the worst case of food poisoning I have ever had (which made me discover that the toilet in our room wasn’t properly fixed to the bathroom floor.) The only thing that keeps the hotel from getting the lowest score possible is the very friendly and helpful hotel staff (even if their English is so bad that when I refused to pay for the food the morning after my food poisoning, they understood absolutely nothing, and demanded I pay the full bill.) Other than that the place is in a sorry state of repair. The gym is a joke (the machines are unsafe cheap Chinese knock-offs) and the pool is so acidic that your skin crawls after a short dip.

The only shortcoming was the frequent blackout (about 3 in one night). This hotel is situated quite far from downtown New Bagan. If you don't mind the distance, this hotel will be good for you.

Besides the nice little garden and the good breakfast buffet, our stay was quite disappointing.
The staff is really nice but totally incapable!
We ask for a pick up service from the airport which was already difficult.
When we arrived, it took them about half an hour until they found our hotel reservation. The hotel voucher we showed them didn't help neither.
We wanted to book a flight, as they also offer in the hotel brochure - but after 1 1/2 days, of sorry, sorry and other excuses, we booked the flight with an "travel agency" on the street within 10min.
The Gym supposed to be open until 10:00 p.m but unfortunately at 8:00p.m we had to realize that it was closed.
It says the hotel has a spa - but while asking, we always received the answer, that there is no spa...
Taking a nap during day time was almost impossible, as the phone of the reception kept ringing so loudly, that it was hard to fall asleep.
What I also found quite disgusting, was that the rooms have carpets and are not cleaned with a hoover - just imagining all the dust and dirt people are bringing into the room after there tours through Bagan.
All in all I would not recommend this hotel as in additional the location is way to far away from downtown or pagodas.
From a hotel of this category and price I expect more.

This hotel is very pretty, lots of flowers, small bungalows with the terrace. The decorations with trees aroung the swimming pool look great. You can eat breakfast in the dinning hall as well as near the pool. It's really nice. There is also a gym in the hotel. We had a very good time (3 Days 2 Nights) there. It's a quite place and just 10 minutes walking from the restaurants.
